Re: Looking forward to Fall.

Fall is a very comforting season for me. I love the clothing, food and activities it brings.

Re: Looking forward to Fall.

It's only been summer for 2 weeks, so it's a long wait until fall.

As soon as the 100 degree temps start I yearn for fall. Only 3 more months until it cools down to something under 100.

@Meowingkitty

I live in AZ and have a running count at my desk at work.  Today, July 1, we have 91 days until Oct. 1.   It may not be fall cool then, but it will be getting there.

I long for fall every year.  The memories too... but for me it's the cooler temps and being able to go outdoors and enjoy nature and not sweating and being uncomfortable.   Fall for me is about freedom.  Freedom from the high energy costs of summer with the A/C, freedom to be outside and freedom to go and do errands and not have to schedule around the time of day.

There is something so comforting to me when the fall arrives.  I think it reminds me most of home, back in Iowa and those happy memories of my parents in my life.

Nice thread.   91 days till October 1 and counting!   PLUS... starting today, the sun rises a bit later and the sun sets a bit earlier and will do so going forward.  That makes me feel better too.

Also, I love when I watch QVC and they start selling clothes and items for fall/winter.   That ignites that we're closer to getting there and I can open my windows again!

Fall can't get here soon enough for me. It is by far my favorite season...I have lived in three states in various parts of the country, and fall was always beautiful. We have been in a triple-digit drought for weeks now...I can't wait for sweater weather.

Re: Looking forward to Fall.

I'm a summer girl. I was driving today remembering the fun times my friends and I had as teenagers. I think of crabbing with ropes, nets, and chicken necks. I think of going to the local gas station where the cute guys we went to school with worked. I think of playing the radio loudly, singing, and laughing. I think of swim team practice and staying all day at the pool, sometimes subbing as an instructor.I remember going to the area carnivals and seeing everyone I went to school with. I remember not worrying about anything but what outfit I would wear to a party.

Throughout  the years summer has brought both happy and sad times. I met DH in the summer, and we were married in summer. But I also lost my younger brother in summer. The happy and the sad - and still summer soothes me. I love the sky in summer- the sunrises and the sunsets.

I grew up in the south, and I like warm weather. I do like all of the seasons, but I don't like the cold weather of winter!  Smiley Happy
