Re: Looking forward to Fall.

I was in Hobby Lobby the other day and they were putting out their pumpkins.  I know they push the seasons, but I was a bit shocked about that.

Re: Looking forward to Fall.

Fall is my favorite season for sure!   Living in the northeast I appreciate that we have all 4 of them, however I also tire quickly of the heat and humidity.  I love the colors, smells and flavors of autumn.........bring on that pumpkin coffee Smiley Happy

Re: Looking forward to Fall.

@qualitygal  I certainly do know what you mean. Every once in a while, a cool breeze will begin to blow in the early morning, and I'll get that nostalgic feeling for Fall. I love all seasons, and being in PA, we have great 4 season living. But winter is my favorite, and Fall is a great precursor to winter. The weather is cooler and we can have a fire in the fireplace. I can start trying out new recipes for Thanksgiving and plan for Christmas baking and decorating. As I look outside right now, my flowers are in their glory (the ones the deer have not eaten), and the sunshine is so inviting. But, it's HOT, HOT, HOT! I've got to weed, but I'll wait until after supper Smiley Frustrated

I really have never been one to yearn or wish about things over which I have no control. When there is a possibility to do so, I think of where would be a good starting point.

We live in a 4 season part of the country and while some believe there are things that can be done to change the weather?  Nobody has convinced me that can be done.

I think certain types of weather does effect many people, in some way, psychologically. For me before ice rinks in our area were open year around, I couldn't wait until October to come around for them to reopen. No mental or physical feeling, just looking forward to being able to skate again.

Re: Looking forward to Fall.

Around now I alway's want Fall, not for any particular memory's, but because as I have gotten older the heat bother's me terrible. It's 90 degree today and I can't go out because the heat makes me sick. Fall has alway's been my favorite time of year, the heat is gone and the cool crisp days are here, the leaves are changing and I have so more more energy. Looking forward to Fall.

Re: Looking forward to Fall.

Like many who have posted on this thread, I too love Fall. A few reasons are because of the holidays but also the cooler weather. I do not do well in heat or humidity. Also my wedding anniversary is in the Fall and it is always a nice time to spend some time with my husband.

I love fall

About 3 times in this past week, I've had yearnings for Fall.  Not the weather, but the memory things attached to that time of year.  There's something that stirs in me about the cooler time of year. Not the bad weather, but what the season makes me feel inside, I guess.  I've never felt that before, so I'm not sure what's going on.

Has anyone else felt that or something like that?  I'm just very aware of that going on in my system, but I've never felt that before.

Anyway, maybe it's just all that's going on around me. I'm not wishing time away, nor is it about the weather.  Don't know.

@qualitygal    I love fall.  I could live in cool weather year round.  Summer is torture for me. Coming from a family of school teachers...we all look forward to the beginning of the school year and the cool weather.  We also love football season and sweater weather.  When we were younger...since we were from Pittsburgh...Sunday was also dedicated to watching the Steelers play.  I'm glad I live in the Northeast. I need change and the four seasons (with the exception of Summer) is a welcome change and something to look forward to.

In my part of the country, South Texas, the school year starts here as early as August 16 or August 23rd.....Its already July and teachers around here start going to their rooms and getting them ready for the fall term and that includes decorating their classrooms for fall...So Hobby Lobby putting out fall stuff seems to make sense....at least around here....

@qualitygal

Personally, I HATE summer---I hate the heat and humidity.  In Texas we dont have much of a "fall" but it does mean cooler temperatures and people still decorate for fall/autumn holidays like Halloween and Thanksgiving!  And I do enjoy our Texas "winters" too....along with the Christmas Holiday season....
