Re: Logistics Of The Queen's Funeral

This has been planned down to the last detail for many many years.  People have been on board and know their duties.

What about the U.S. doing the JFK funeral three days after an assassination with world leaders WALKING behind the coffin.  And the new President! Doing it in three days. I can't even imagine.

As previously mentioned this funeral has been planned for years, in fact I'll bet Charles' has been planned or is in the process of being planned now.

A little bit of trivia - Queen Elizabeth was not able to attend JFK's funeral due to her pregnancy with Prince Edward.  Prince Philip attended in her place.   I remember seeing all the world leaders walking during the funeral.

Re: Logistics Of The Queen's Funeral

I realize the Queen wrote everything down as to how she wanted her funeral to go.

The point of my post was the arduous task of making all of her wishes happen.

As far as meeting world leaders along with the proper protocol when doing so, lunches, dinners, where everyone will sit, security and lots more.

It seems a daunting task.

Per the BBC, Buckingham Palace has been planning down to the most minute detail and also rehearsing her funeral since she turned 75, right down to the color of flowers, the route and the cadence of the procession with her hearse, who will speak, and even the musicians practice the music to be played, etc. then they rehearsed the entire funeral again when she turned 85, 90, and 95. They have planned the service of thanksgiving that was today, and everything else that will take place before she is laid to rest. Such attention to detail is easy to see when everything so far has been so perfectly done.
I wonder if anyone is already planning the coronation of King Charles lll. I suspect they are.

Re: Logistics Of The Queen's Funeral

I am glad to know the three of them will stay together. It was mentioned that some of the staff were particularly attached to them and that they might let them remain. The dogs are about to see a new lifestyle I am sure. No more velvet beds with the linens changed daily. I hope if Eugenia and Beatrice take them they will have the time and interest to give them the attention they are used to having.
