Logistics Of The Queen's Funeral

I understand the Queen made her wishes known on how she wanted her funeral to be.  It was noted that the world leaders attending would choose the contingent they wished to accompany them.

I cannot wrap my head around what it will take to implement everything involved in the preparation.

The security will be mind boggling with hundreds of dignitaries from all over the world.  You would have to secure room and board for everyone attending, getting them to all of the events, meals, church services, etc.  Will any of them have a role in the service and if so, what?

The task seems so overwhelming and monumental.  I bet many Brits organizing the event will experience many sleepless nights until the funeral is over.

I can not imagine the logistics involved with so many world leaders invited, plus keeping with the Queen's wishes.  It was said they have been planning her funeral since the 1960's.

It is indeed mind boggling.  Unimaginable for folks like us but they've been planning for this for many years due to her age.  It was only a matter of when the plan would be put into place.  The same with visiting heads of state, most of them have had a plan in place for years.

Who has been invited to represent the United States at Queen Elizabeth II's funeral?

In some way this may be or larger than the meetings the dignataries always have at the U.N. in NYC.  I worked in walking distance from it and the avenues were all blocked off from at least a 10 mile radius.  All world Leaders attended the UN General Assembly.

I could be wrong but I have a strong feeling that only commonwealth countries as well as representatives and officials from allied countries will show up for HRH's funeral.  The heads of countries who had very little dealings with HRH will likely not be there.

The NYPD as well as Homeland Security and other LE always did a top notch job of keeping everyone safe.  It was difficult for us who worked in the area because there were times we couldn't get to our offices.

I would think that each plane landing with a foreign leader and their group would be met by someone "official" from England.

How on earth would you coordinate that?

Re: Logistics Of The Queen's Funeral

In one of the more straight-forward tasks of the last few days, the Queen's bees at Buckingham Palace were informed that Elizabeth had died and that Charles III is now their master. The royal beekeeper did the honors and, just in case the bees don't get it, he placed black ribbons on their hives.

From "Rolling Stone:"  According to the Daily Mail, beekeeping is also a royal tradition in European countries like Germany, France, Netherlands and Ireland, and that — superstitiously — not informing the hives of the death of a king or queen could result in the exodus of the entire colony of bees.

They will pull it off w/o a hitch.  It won't be as many as you think.  Only those dignataries with which GB has as allies and the heads of the commonwealth countries.  I'm guessing here, but it's the most logical way to look at it and I could be wrong.
