The only thing I've seen here in Georgia is a waiver of the state gas tax which did nothing to significantly lower gas prices in my area at least. I got nothing other than about $0.20 a gallon discount and I can do that with my supermarket shoppers card.

@Laura14 - yeah, you know we're never going to be on the cutting edge for rebates and stuff here.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

@Laura14  he announced last week that there is a surplus of 1.1B so refunds will begin in a few weeks only to those who file income tax.

Wonder what happens to those on SS who did not have to file but still drive?

I don't know about other states, but the way I understand it is Indiana residents only get the refunds if they filed taxes. Those who don't file aren't eligible.

My husband and I get Social Security and file taxes. I don't know the circumstances why someone wouldn't file.

@teganslaw  in some States SS isn't taxable.

@Laura14 - I googled it a few minutes ago after reading @Sage04 post.  Apparently it's true. Shocking I tell you.  I didn't really understand it all though.

@Sage04  I found it! Thank you so much.

Singles are getting $250, HOH get $375 and Marrieds get $500.

If you didn't file in 2020 or 2021, you are not eligible because you didn't pay into the surplus so they can't give back what you didn't pay. This according to the Q&A.

If you owe taxes or child support, it's being applied there but if you are good to go, it will be in your bank account shortly.

Show me my $250!

@gidgetgh My mouth is open in shock too although you know election years we usually get to be part of the corruption. I will look for my $250 now to appear. That was a nice surprise!

Re: Legislative Bonus

@gidgetgh If you already filed, the next several weeks and the same way you received the other refund if you got one.
