Today we received a bill that was due in the beginning of October. This bill envelope usually comes with two separate bills; one for our Homeowners Association and one for our sub development. The bill for the Homeowners Association was not in the envelope with the sub development bill. The bill that came today, on the 25th is due by the 30th. My husband and I were trying to figure out what is going on. Of course the office is closed until Monday. For the first time, I set up an account online for our Association so I can see what it says and pay quickly if necessary. Anyway, we will straighten this out on Monday but my tip is to check to see if any of your bills are missing or late getting to you. I don't know if this a partially late post office thing because there is no postal mark on the outer envelope if the bill that came today.

Re: Late billing. Watch for it.

None of our bills have been late, so far. I know about Homeowner's Associations, but what is a sub-development bill? I never heard of it.

We only receive one monthly bill in the US Mail.  The rest are sent via email and we know when they are due.

Re: Late billing. Watch for it.

I drive myself nuts, but I'm a list keeper. I have a book with all my bills and mark when they are received, when they are due and when they are paid. A couple of times I had gotten charged a late fee because I hadn't paid the bill when due because I hadn't gotten the bill and wan't paying attention. Doesn't happen now. I also check all my magazines and junk mailers to make sure nothing gets stuck in them. Just the other day, I found one of my bills in a magazine that I normally don't read right away. It has happenened before. So far, so good.

The USPS has been compromised in many areas and it could be a result of that. Many people are receiving important mail very late.

Another reason why I pay my bills on line.

I have tracked package shipments and have seen them sit in a Post Office 5 minutes from my house for up to a week. Just sit there. I had made 2 easy pays before one item finally got to me (looked like it had been opened). Never had stuff like this happen before. Packages just sit at the PO for days and days. I don't get it.

Re: Late billing. Watch for it.

All my bills are paperless and paid online either through my bank or billers websites. Some I have set up to pay automatically. I get receipts right away and file in folders set up on computer and backed up on the cloud. Bill paying is no longer a chore.

Re: Late billing. Watch for it.

@catter70 once upon a time I kept all the bill information in my head with no problem. now I have check-off charts —one for my monthly bills and another for annual and semi-annual.  I’m too scattered to rely on my memory.
