Anyway, my issue with some of the "cult" items, WEN and Keurig included, is the expense. Personally I use Wen and blow a lot of money on skin care and cosmetics. Nothing charged, our bills are paid. I know what my neighbors pays for K cups because he tells us. He is a financial disaster and almost lost his house due to unpaid taxes. He's also a hoarder of shopping channel stuff. When I read on the board that posters overdraw their bank account because of a delayed credit on a defective Keurig or gallon of Wen or whatever, I feel they are swayed by this "cult" mentality. I wish I could come up with another word.
Your neighbor isn't being swayed by "cult" mentality. He is an obsessive shopper and hoarder, which is a disorder or form of addiction. It has nothing to do with the Keurig or whatever else he has. It has to do with everything he buys.

Some of you are saying you throw away coffee, so it saves you money to use the K cups...but I think the cost of a pot of coffee you make yourself even in the fancier stuff, would still be much less than using the K cups. So, I am not sure you are saving a anything at all, and perhaps even if you threw out 1/2 a pot of coffee, you still would be saving money. Just wondering.... I know the K cups are fun, and easy...just saying. If you figure out how much it is actually costing you to buy them, you might be surprised.
Also, I know the K cups cost less than buying coffee out, but comparing to how much you spend making your own ( so simple and fast to do ) it does cost you more. We make a full 10 cup pot in 8 minutes. You can make less if you want. I think sometimes we don't really add up the cost over a year very often to see how much the added cost really is. Over time, it can be quite significant. Just a thought....
Have you ever considered that it really isn't any of your business how much someone chooses to spend on coffee or tea or anything else for that matter? Just a thought....

I happen to love the Keurig iced teas. They make one glass of fresh brewed iced tea quickly. As for hot tea, I still opt for the old fashioned ways (bags or tea infusers).

I ask the same thing about coffee drinkers and that contraption!
You can make instant coffee for 5 cents per HUGE mug (Folger's crystals on sale for $4 routinely at CVS and Walgreen's). Can't begin to imagine spending $$$$$$$$$$$ for coffee when Folger's instant is delicious!

Glad you like Folger's instant, I can't stand it or any of the other instant coffees I've tried over the years. Love my Vue and consider it $$ well spent.

Good grief! WHY? The answer is BECAUSE THEY WANT TO. That's reason enough for anyone, and a darned good reason too. A lot of people don't care what a cup of coffee or tea costs, don't want the drippy old tea bag and some probably like the tea better. I hate tea bags because I can always taste the bags. Harney's sachets I can't, but tea bags are a pretty poor tea option too truth be known. I use them at work occasionally though.
What's so horrible about people who use or don't use an appliance because they want to? Everything in life doesn't have to be the cheapest, or even make sense. And to deride or look down on someone for using a k-cup is silly. And also none of anyone else's business.

Keurig tea? Why not? It's all about being able to choose.

Posts like yours always amuse me. People pick and choose how they spend their money, and what they feel with worth the cost is different from what other believe to be worth the cost. That's life.
Why is it so important to you or any other anti-Keurig folks to try to educate anyone? We're all adults and we all made our choice.
As for your "instruction" regarding cost of k-cups vs ground coffee, guess what? Many of us use our own ground coffee in reusable cups. If I choose some day to quit filling my own reusable cup and just buy my vue cups, I'll do it and I won't seek anyone's permission!

How is it touchy to state a simple fact? Why is it so important for some to instruct others on how they should spend their own money?
