Your neighbor isn't being swayed by "cult" mentality. He is an obsessive shopper and hoarder, which is a disorder or form of addiction. It has nothing to do with the Keurig or whatever else he has. It has to do with everything he buys.

Over time, it can be quite significant. Just a thought....

Have you ever considered that it really isn't any of your business how much someone chooses to spend on coffee or tea or anything else for that matter? Just a thought....

I happen to love the Keurig iced teas. They make one glass of fresh brewed iced tea quickly. As for hot tea, I still opt for the old fashioned ways (bags or tea infusers).

I ask the same thing about coffee drinkers and that contraption!

You can make instant coffee for 5 cents per HUGE mug (Folger's crystals on sale for $4 routinely at CVS and Walgreen's). Can't begin to imagine spending $$$$$$$$$$$ for coffee when Folger's instant is delicious!

Glad you like Folger's instant, I can't stand it or any of the other instant coffees I've tried over the years. Love my Vue and consider it $$ well spent.

Good grief! WHY? The answer is BECAUSE THEY WANT TO. That's reason enough for anyone, and a darned good reason too. A lot of people don't care what a cup of coffee or tea costs, don't want the drippy old tea bag and some probably like the tea better. I hate tea bags because I can always taste the bags. Harney's sachets I can't, but tea bags are a pretty poor tea option too truth be known. I use them at work occasionally though.

What's so horrible about people who use or don't use an appliance because they want to? Everything in life doesn't have to be the cheapest, or even make sense. And to deride or look down on someone for using a k-cup is silly. And also none of anyone else's business.

Posts like yours always amuse me. People pick and choose how they spend their money, and what they feel with worth the cost is different from what other believe to be worth the cost. That's life.

Why is it so important to you or any other anti-Keurig folks to try to educate anyone? We're all adults and we all made our choice.

As for your "instruction" regarding cost of k-cups vs ground coffee, guess what? Many of us use our own ground coffee in reusable cups. If I choose some day to quit filling my own reusable cup and just buy my vue cups, I'll do it and I won't seek anyone's permission!

How is it touchy to state a simple fact? Why is it so important for some to instruct others on how they should spend their own money?
