June Bird's Nest - Welcome Summer

I don't know Yock.  I find my self hunting around for threads.

There are times when you must speak, not because you are going to change the opposing side, but because if you do not speak, they have changed you.

Seeeeeeeeeeeee, it isn't all me. These things DO disappear on occasion. LOL. Smiley Happy Now that is funny - I clicked on a smiley and got the words smileyhappy. Now maybe when I hit post the dumb thing will show up.

Birds are scarce due to the heat. Was in Beaumont yesterday and decided to come home through Oak Glen - a mountain community - as I had heard the gift shop had closed down. It, along with a coffee shop has been there forever. Could not believe it but it is true - feel so bad about that as I always loved going in there. Bought Tessa and a friend real Indian mocs there a few years back. Not inexpensive but they are really nice. Rounded a corner; and there ran a small deer across the road - feel so sorry for all the critters in this heat and with the fire nearby, what can I say.

Have a good day everyone.

Re: June Bird's Nest - Welcome Summer

Great pix of the boat Possum - really beautiful. Also love the pictures of Miss Blackie and my state bird the Cardinal. Always thought they were such pretty birds and also always have regretted there are none out here in Sou Cal.

Birds are really scarce in this heat unless early morning or early evening when it is cooler. Of course the Crows are  cawing and flitting about regardless of the heat. Am wondering if perhaps they are mating as they are sure gathering in small bunches and yellling their heads off. LOL.  They are really gathering the the fir tree on the propery next to me and that is rare but they are hanging out for some reason. Will say they show up as there is a water leack out in the street. Yes, the water company knows about it - called them twice - and they came out yesterday morning and put out a sigh - suspect they will be here sometime Monday to fix it. And here we have a drought but the guy said yesterday when he checked it is not leaking a lot. I told him it should not matter how much but having a water shortage to me means we protect every drop. Have been told they - like many utility companies out here - do not have the personnel they use to have. Interesting, if true, as the rates have all sure jumped sky high.

Hope all have a great day.
