I have the "Q" on in the background but I'm not about to buy anything today. I, fortunately, collected lots of gold and gemstones over 30 years and to see the prices today make me gasp!!! {#emotions_dlg.w00t} I think the Q can sell these for alot less than what they are offering today - these are NOT good prices - sorry, but they aren't. I don't care about the easy pay or any free shipping and handling, if they are offering that at all. JUST RIDICULOUS!

Wait until HSN has a clearance on gemstones.....you have to know what you are buying (and, not bragging, but I do), but their prices are more reasonable, alot of free shipping and handling and basically their jewerly is just as nice as what the Q offers. But again, you have to know about gemstones.

Also that bronzo K-rap is K-rap. I wouldn't have that bronzo jewerly if they gave it to me. Maybe that's why alot of it is on clearance.

The only thing I purchased in 2013 that WAS A STEAL - was a lunchtime special from Judith Ripka - 14.0 carat solitare RING in London Blue Topaz for $208. I about FAINTED ({#emotions_dlg.wub})when I opened the box - the original Q price was over $450 and the retail was in the $600 range. That was a fluke on the Q's part - {#emotions_dlg.laugh} but I lucked out and grabbed that right away. {#emotions_dlg.thumbup}

The only good jewelry I own are my wedding ring, a pearl necklace, one gold bangle and a few white and yellow gold earrings.

One day I'd like to have a ring in my birthstone.

To those who can afford to splurge, enjoy !

I hope your birthstone is a stone you like. My husband's daughter's is the ruby and I'm so jealous. I'm November and it used to be the beautiful and regal Imperial Topaz. Then, when that became rare to non-existent, they changed it for a short bit to blue topaz. Then they moved that to December and made mine citrine. It's ok, but I don't totally love it.

I am fortunate to have several Imperial Topaz stones, one of which I did have set into a nice ring. But it's a shame that they changed my birthstone, because it was so special.

Many years ago I bought myself a piece or two of David Yurman jewelry every year. However, I have not bought myself any new pieces in about three years. I was fortunate to receive a beautiful DY ring and bracelet as a Christmas gift.

The very few times I have spent money on costume jewelry I have been disappointed. My mother passed away in 2010 and I inherited her large jewelry collection. She was partial to gold, pearls and diamonds. I have enjoyed mixing her pieces in with my own. Many of those pieces are more precious to me than anything I could buy in a store.

I don't plan to make any jewelry purchases in 2014.

I prefer quality over quantity. The quality, price and s/h at QVC is ridiculous. Who in their right mind would pay $$$$ for semi- precious stones set in what the q calls gold? They also charge gold prices or silver pieces. Sadly, about seven years ago, they lost me as a jewelry buyer.

I think I stopped around that time or maybe before. They did have some beautiful stuff for a while, but it has gotten so "cheap". O/T Did you enjoy your trip with your sisters? At least I think it was you .... if not, I'm sorry to confuse you. {#emotions_dlg.blush}
