I'm not sure if I'd say anything or not and I'm pretty outspoken.    I'd be so dumbfounded to hear such a thing I may not be able to speak.

Stepping in could have caused a riot and that would be worse.  Who knows how violent the people in line are?

I heard the checker say something, but the lady just kept talking.  He looked young to me.

Re: JC Penney Customer Racist Rant

Thoughts:

* If I'm in line and a member of my family JOINS me with other items for purchase and is NOT a separate purchase., that is not cutting in line. Otherwise, it is and that's when you say, "Excuse me, the line starts THERE" and you point to the end of the line.

*Employees are encouraged to NOT get involved with customer issues due to liability. You contact Security if you feel uncomfortable in any way. The store employee chose to not do that.

* I will not get involved in  any situation between to 2 people unless a child is physically being harmed. Why? You don't know if that angry person has a gun or not. You don't know if they are going to come after in any way. You don't know if they are going to sue you because you got involved and if you TOUCH that person, you are guilty of assault.

Be real here... people don't stop for someone who has fallen in the mall, had an accident, etc. You really think most (not all but most) are going to get in the midst of this mess? Hell to the No.

It is the 'holidays' and folks loose patience.  I don't know what is racist about it though.  Where I live in the So CA, the hispanic population has exploded and mostly because they are here illegally.  Now, over in their countries they do have lines and know it is customary to stand in lines.  That person should know that and not feign ignorance.  The woman who mouthed off was just doing that.  She may not be the racist labeled.  She may donate money and time to charities and the like who help many of all backgrounds.

No one cut in front of her.

There were two women together.  The person buying had one item in the wrong size (out of several), and her companion volunteered to run back and get the correct size.

EVEN if she had cut in, which she didn't according to the cashier, racist attacks are wrong.

You wouldn't like it about your ethnic heritage, and I know I didn't like it either because it did happen to me once.

In these times I would have probably stepped out of that line and gone elsewhere. There are crazy people in this world and I would not want to be a bystander of whatever may occur.

For those of you who would have gotten in here face and stood up for those two women why? They more then likely wouldn't give you the time of day.

I could not just stand there and listen to racial epitaphs. It's who I am. I would have calmly told her to stop. If she continued I would get Security.

Why, for myself it would had been wrong to just let that women get away from what she was saying, there is right and wrong in this world, how would you felt if a person was talking about you that way?

I say something, it can be done politely.

I would have said something also on behalf of the young lady with three children who was harassed yesterday on a plane fight.  There were children there.

Re: JC Penney Customer Racist Rant

I think when lines are really long, the lady should have asked to go ahead to her friend.  I do not think it was correct to go on ahead.  I do feel sorry for the lady that got mad.  She must have been having a rough day, maybe she was also having some physical issues.  I have had times where my body ached, while standing in line and if I had someone cut in front of me at that time, I would also have been really mad.
