We have had sporadic burst of firecrackers all week long. Tonight is different it's a barrage. The poor animals. I just loath those things

Re: It's started full throttle

I will put our youngest dog in her crate during the big display here. It is her first 4th of July, the other one hides next to the bed.

I also have a lot of concern for those suffering from combat related PTSD.  There are lots of signs throughout my community.  I just hope people heed them.

I wish people would remember to refrain from fireworks because of pets as well as vets who may have PTSD.

Marp, we were on the same wavelength.

I do too. Setting off fireworks should be ILLEGAL everywhere. Can't wait until the 4th is over.

Re: It's started full throttle

Fireworks are illegal in my city and the surrounding unincorporated area. That won't stop them because the city down the freeway okayed having them for sale. The cops give out a report each and every year saying there were very few infractions, a quiet night, etc.

They must be wearing blinders and earplugs. We have helicopters patrolling and they have to be able to spot the offenders but nothing is done. They're the big ones that explode in the air, can't be missed. If I can see them from my house then surely LE can too. They also refuse to investigate complaints unless there is a fire danger....

Hey Cherry....the same thing is going on here too.   My cats are even a little rattled by it.

There have been some FB posts requesting that the public should also take combat vets into consideration, when shooting off fireworks.....it can trigger PTSD.  :-(

One of my Dogs hides in the closet!  Firecrackers & Thunder & Lightning.  It's going to be a long weekend.  Sigh.....

Re: It's started full throttle

They started here last night at11 pm. It's been mild so far, no m-80's , but the weekend is young.

My dogs hate them.
