Re: It's started full throttle

They started here last night, are going full-throttle now, and will continue until Monday. They're illegal here, but the cops turn the other cheek. I guess no decent-night's sleep till Monday.

I've never liked fireworks. I'm already a jumpy, nervous type.

Re: It's started full throttle

We usually go on post for the 4th and there is a lot less noise than there was 15 years ago. You can guess why...

So far it's been quiet in our neighborhood but who knows about tomorrow ?

We're staying home tomorrow just to be on the safe side as we are near several potential targets.

( My dog is pretty chill and having good windows helps tremendously. We barely hear anything ! Love them.)

Re: It's started full throttle

We were good for a long time but lately it seems nobody cares.  I can't say we have it as bad as some folks seem to but it still bothers me on a lot of different levels.  There are so many more things to consider now, especially our veterans.  I've never understood the cherry bombs or M80's.  All they are are deafening.  How much fun is that?

Re: It's started full throttle

Our 3 dogs that we loved for 15+ years ( before they went to the Rainbow Bridge) were fearless - except when the fireworks went off. They could tolerate anything, but that.  Our neighbors seem to think that shooting off fireworks, at anytime of the year, is ok. Cat Frustrated

I despise fireworks. I've posted this before but my daughter barely escaped serious injury from an illegal firework that was thrown and landed on her face.

Re: It's started full throttle

Fireworks became legal in Georgia this week, it's going to be a loud, annoying next few nights.   Not that it mattered, now they can shoot off the big stuff.

Re: It's started full throttle

It's been totally quiet around here so far despite the fireworks stand at the local market.

Our last house overlooked a river which attracted campers to set up their displays. I miss the river but not the partiers.
