I have a small collection of sterling and gold cat pins. I like vintage best.

Are you a collector ?

Oh Yes, Collected Boyd's Bears for years, resin and stuffed, I must have over 500, quit when Gary got sick and sold the company. I still have them on display everywhere, and still love them.

I used to have a couple collections, but now I live in a smaller home and there is no room to collect anything.

Depression Glass, hence my internet name.  You know, that pink and green stuff.  I also collect depression kitchenware, mainly range shakers, hundreds of them.  Those are the big square ones that sat on the stove.

I love Snoopy too and have a small collection; a wind up Snoopy and Woodstock, a small Snoopy and his entire wardrobe, a Christmas mantelpiece for hanging a stocking...

Re: Is There Anything You Collect?

I have been bad, bad about wanting to collect stuff. If I had anything that "wowed" me, I wanted another one.  And if I had two, it was the start of a collection.  It gave me a constant feeling of "treasure hunting", which made shopping extra fun.

I'm doing considerably better these days, except for spring and wanting to collect flowers for my deck, which bring me great joy.

My collections are not huge, since the desire for more and more burns itself out eventually, but my 3 favorite are my Beatles memorabilia, my Estee Lauder Zodiac compacts, and my collection of 36 antique to modern fortune telling teacups.

I used to collect matchbooks, Hallmark Keepsake ornaments and pewter figurines. But I've stopped. Don't want to leave all this unwanted stuff to my kids.

The estate resale shops around here are filled with hummels and every other collectible that no one is buying.
Month after month the prices on these items gets reduced.

I've noticed on Antiques Roadshow that former appraisals are being reduced. I'm hoping that there will be a resurgence of gracious living in future. This throwaway society can't be sustained long term.
