If anyone is coming to Vegas in the next couple weeks, be prepared to deal with an invasion of grasshoppers.    They're everywhere and they're not nice.  Crunch, crunch when you're walking, and duck to avoid them flying at you.  These are big ones, too

I glanced at a news article about that this morning. I cannot imagine. I am terrified of all insects, espcsilly stulid ones that fly directly into your face. I would not be able to go outside.

@Tyak Thanks for the heads up!  My daughter lives in Denver.  She just spent 3 weeks here in Va visiting us, then went down the East coast (driving back with boyfriend and dog).

She mentioned that when she gets back to Denver, she plans to go to Las Vegas for a few days.  She loves the food there!  She often goes there to run races for charity.....and eat the food!  Ha!

I just texted her what you said.  She's still driving back and will be in Denver late tonight probably.

She likes to go to Las Vegas for 2 or 3 days just to enjoy the food, work out and see a show or two.

After hearing this maybe she'll wait to go to Las Vegas until near end of August.

How harrowing!  I would be so frightened to be surrounded by such a swarm, even if it is a swarm of grasshoppers.

Too much of anything is unsettling.

I would freak out!

@Annabellethecat66

Supposedly, they're going to be a nuisance for another couple weeks.  I heard that the drain in the pool at TI was clogged with them so it had to be shut down.  Gross.

It’s trending on twitter.

Grasshoppers are creepy...the way they jump any which way.

Gives me the creepy-crawlies when they land on you.

They are having an invasion of the "Mormon Crickets" in southeast Idaho this summer.  Perhaps the swarms are moving toward Nevada.  I've noticed quite a few grasshoppers in my yard this year here in Utah.  Call in the Seagulls!

Re: Invasion in Vegas

[ Edited ]

I haven't been to Vegas in years.  I love it there but we don't spend much time outside when we are there.  Creepy crawlies creep me out but Vegas is all about the slots in the casinos, the shows, the restaurants and the shopping for me.  And now you have me  thinking about Vegas in the Fall...LOL
