Re: Input Please - Brief Company Expected

Is this a stop on some kind of underground railroad?

If so, brown bag it with some apples and protein bars, maybe some military MREs and cyanide capsules in case of capture.

@Nonametoday

I think your "guests" were rude!    For several people to invite themselves to "stop by" to use your bathroom and to say hello and then expecting a free meal?  If they were that hungry they should have taken you out to dinner with them instead of insulting your hospitality.

I would have felt so used.

Just my take.

Surely travelers meeting up at someone's house wouldn't expect a meal from them would they?  I mean really traveling people would know to eat. Or should.  Or offer to take the person out for a meal where they are meeting up.

I agree, they shouldn't expect a meal to be served at their "meeting point".  They would probably have a meal stop planned for when they all meet up and get on their way.

Just put some refreshments out, and they can take it or leave it.

Re: Input Please - Brief Company Expected

maybe a box of donuts and bottled water

do you mean bottled herbal tea or hot tea

I wouldn't do either bananas or yogurt because I know I wouldn't want that unless this is early morning

packaged cookies  or small bags of potato chips

bagels and cream cheese

I would ask one of the people you know that is coming

What are they doing for these 5 days?

that is very nice of you to do that

@ThinkingOutLoud

So, what did you decide to serve?  Did everything go smoothly?  I hope so.

@Stelladorable - with no disrespect at all to the OP who wanted to be kind to her guests, your response about the Underground Railroad gave me the biggest laugh I've had in a long time.  Priceless.

Why is it, when I have a 50/50 guess at something, I'm always 100% wrong?

I don't understand the 'jigsaw puzzle'.  Time consuming, and too much concentration.

Better to just relax, chat, etc.  Maybe it will be relaxing time for them to keep in contact with their families, friends via their phones, ipads, or whatever else is out there.

Wishing them all (and O/P) good luck and good adventures.

'More or less', 'Right or wrong', 'In general', and 'Just thinking out loud ' (as usual).

@Stelladorable - I more than chuckled. I laughed so hard I almost started wheezing. Just started laughing again reading it again.  Really, really witty.
