Re: Input Please - Brief Company Expected

A good vegetable soup in the crock pot along with some nice bread and different cheese. Some grapes and maybe some homemade cookies.

How about coffee/tea and cake, pie or cupcakes?  Initially, it didnt sound like they would be with you for any length of time.  Id do easy.  I think to if youre a meeting place, then both parties are traveling somehow.  I dont think Id want to go out sightseeing after traveling for a bit. You'd want to get to your next destination.

I agree with bagels and cream cheese and maybe some fruit for the AM.  For the evening, I'd put out a charcuterie board, with a variety of meats and cheeses.

Bagels, English muffins, cream cheese, butter, coffee/tea for the AM. Soup, bread, butter, coffee/tea  for the PM. Nothing heavy like chili that may cause indigestion.

For AM:  Fresh fruit, bagels, English muffins, assorted pastries, coffee and tea.

For PM:  Cheese and sausage tray with assorted crackers; cookies; fresh fruit;  "finger sandwiches," a soup in the crockpot; beverages.

Things to do:  They may just want conversation, or read the newspaper or magazines, or watch the news on TV, or take a short walk around your neighborhood.

First I would check with the guests, to see if there are any dietary restrictions or preferences.  I'd offer hard boiled eggs, yogurt, berries, and blueberry or pumpkin muffins on Wednesday, and soup or chili with cornbread muffins on Sunday.

It's very nice and generous to open your home and offer such hospitality.

I'm the worst entertainer in the world, so I don't have much input,  but want to say your guests are very fortunate.  If I was one of your guests, especially if I didn't know you, I would be happy with any snack you had to offer and be thankful for your kiindness.

@Chopsmom As long as you do not have any dietary restrictions you would be happy.

Chopsmom, great advice.  We like to entertain, but try to keep it simple.  We eat whatever is offered to us and are thankful for their hospitality when we are in someone else's home.

I actually do.  Recently diagnosed gluten intolerant, but I'm sure there would be something I could eat.  I've gotten pretty resourceful with this.  Too bad, since I'm kind of a foodie😊
