My neighbors think that I am inconsiderate because I refuse to let them stick their noses in my business. I don't notify them when I'm traveling. I had the audacity to quash their request to our HOA to remove bushes that are planeted completely in front of my living room windows (and were planted by the HOA) because they're "prickly". I flat out told them that's to provide security and keep snoopy people (them) away from my windows. And that's just the tip of the iceberg.

@FrostyBabe1. They sound awful.

I really can't complain after hearing some of these stories. The neighbors who live in the apartment beside me sometimes play their TV loud, because one night I heard the "dun dun" sound of Law & Order loud and clear through my walls.
And the people that live above me, I can hear them walking around upstairs or slamming doors, especially at night. We're in a old Victorian style home that was converted into apartments so I know it's not going to be as quiet as a morgue. But at least nobody's shooting off guns, having violent arguments, and acting awful. The landlord doesn't allow pets, but there's a black cat that likes to hang around the place. I had my door open one night last week while cooking and he nearly came inside until I closed the lid on my indoor grill and he took off running. He's got to be somebody's pet, as he's very friendly, wears a collar, and looks pretty healthy.
The other neighbors around me are pretty quiet and keep to themselves. There's one across the street who I used to work with many years ago. She's occasionally checked up on me when she's seen my door open or mail in my box I forgot to pick up (and I was home during the time). She watches the ID channel and is kind of our unofficial neighborhood watch. ![]()
I do know a guy that has a neighbor who spends the entire day and night tearing up his house, banging and hammering on things. He actually secretly filmed him one night and put the video on YouTube. It was actually pretty creepy to watch. He believes his neighbor is on drugs due to his bizarre behavior. Several of us told him the police should be called because he is disturbing the peace. I personally wouldn't put up with it but he's afraid of retaliation. He's one that doesn't want to make waves, so he deals with it.

Pretty much. But they're also older and ill. I don't wish to be hurtful to them, I simply want them to stay out of my business.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 We live in the country and have a neighbor about a quarter mile away who likes to shoot his gun for about 30 minutes or so. It is annoying and I always hope he'll run out of ammunition. There are a few people down the road who drive by our home at what seems like warp speed. It seems like when one idiot moves away there's always another to take their place.

Yes, we now dealing with the second generation of the neighbors from Hell. 25 years of trashy trailer neighbors, and I’m still hoping one of their fireworks celebrations sets the fire to clear that lot!

I have been so fortunate to always have great neighbors.I can’t imagine how awful it could be if neighbors couldn’t be neighborly.Sorry for all of you who don’t have a good relationship with the people next door.

Before we lived here we lived across DH's brother and wife. We were newly married and the kithen had alarge window. I had a cafe curtain and valance. In-laws house was not directly across from us but our side of the road sat a lower than they did.
I did not realize that at night if the kitchen light was on they could see in the window not covered by curtain until my BIL announced in front of his family "I like that blue nightgown you had on the other night".
I got full curtains the next day, The dopey next door is loud but he's not nosey.

I'm just saying everyone always needs to be careful they the put out on the internet these days.
It never goes away. It something happens to something or someone, it could come into play who said what on the internet.
It's best not to say what someone wishes would happen...just keep it to themselves.....just saying.
