Re: Inconsiderate neighbors, do you have one?

My sister had the neighbors from he**. The neighbor would call the police on her and make up lies. There’s much more to the story but it would take a dozen paragraphs to tell it.

In the end the horrible neighbor moved so all is well.

Re: Inconsiderate neighbors, do you have one?

So, I've lived in the same neighborhood for at least 43 years.  My house was the second one built in the development.

We've had a lot of new people move into the neighborhood in the past 2 years.

I have told my friend I eat with several times a week that people probably wonder who lives in my house.  It's the biggest house in the neighborhood.

I pay someone to mow it and do odd jobs (i.e. put up cameras, plant flowers, etc).

I don't work so I come and go usually after 10:00AM when most people are at work.  I am usually home by around 3 or 4:00PM.

I don't walk the neighborhood like some people (and I used to do when my girls lived at home).

I also park in the garage, so no one even sees my car.

My friend who does walk every day, sometimes twice a day has said she's been asked who lives there.  She said she's offered up a very few things but not much.

That works for me.  I used to be very involved in the neighborhood in many ways and knew everyone.  I'm still good friends with both next door neighbors and a few other 'old timers'.

Are there other's here who are the same way?  I have some very good friends I can count on who live very close if it's an emergency.  How about you guys?

I am 69 and on my 4th. house. I have never ever experienced anything like what some of you have. My last neighborhood was a small neighborhood of 65 homes and no through streets all cul de sacs in the unincorporated county Lived there 22 years and never had a problem. Enjoyed fun times with my neighbors. So sorry that some of you have not had the experience of living in good neighborhoods with good neighbors.

Oh my goodness! Are you my neighbor??

I have the same problem. I live next to a sawmill.

They target shoot there on the weekends. It terrifies my Yorkie.

They also run 4 wheelers then the woods all weekend up against my property line!

For the most part, I agree with the old adage that good fences make good neighbors.

Re: Inconsiderate neighbors, do you have one?

Oh boy...I've tried to take the high road with my neighbors but I'm at my witts end.

They took down my tree.  It provided privacy and protection for the embankment to my pool.   It's a horror show.  Happened in January.  They left the mess all over my yard not to mention how much damage this is going to do when the root rots.  It will create sink holes, uneven gardens.  It's just a mess.

This past Sunday I went to the local big box and picked up some arborvites and was out planting them.  He strolls out like nothing happened.  I lost it, told him to find a good lawyer because he was going to need it.

The next day my (great) neighbor on the other side text's me pictures of him - home from work - cleaning up the mess.   My sister offered to head to my house, grab a lawn chair and an iced coffee and sit and watch him work. (pretty much what he does every weekend while the rest of us try to keep up our homes)

Hope he keeps it up and stays away from me.

We have 2 really nice neighbors a 1/2 mile or so down the road.  However, the guy right next door is a piece of work. Now that nice weather is here this has been the last week and will happen all summer.

At 8:30 Friday night the LR window was open and the cat was sprawled on the windowsill snoozing until the first gunshot when the neighbor started his target practice. The poor cat went from 0 to 60 off the sill and went tearing to the other side of the house. He shot for 45 min. As long as he stays toward the woods and before 11:00 pm, he usual favorite time,  I suppose we should be grateful.

His 30 yr. old son took his 4 wheeler up and down the road past our house at midnight 3 times this week. Full throttle, just back and forth for no apparant reason.

The father has no cattle but has large wrapped bails of hay piled in the field across the road from us.  Last night at 12:30 I heard a large truck with the motor running for a long time.  Then came the tractor. DD came downstairs at 12:45 with some colorful language. They were across the road loading bails unto a flatbed, at that time of night,

This kind of stuff will go on while the weather is nice. The guy doesn't "work".  He is  around all day,as is son.  For crying out loud do it during the day. Telling him won't help, he's a jerk as far as I'm concerned,  he's nuts and armed.

Any rude neighbors where you live?

I feel for you.  We still have places where even a Sheriff feels it's legal to shoot guns in the country.  How insane.  Any trained shooter knows how far a bullet can travel.  One of the reasons a gated community and HOA's are the way to go.  I would call law enforcement and point out how dangerous this behavior is for everybody around this moron.  I bet there are drugs involved too.  Just a question of time before anybody gets hurt or killed.

Re: Inconsiderate neighbors, do you have one?

Ours finally moved.  We had always suspected (and so did the police) that the do yourself construction guy with his fleet of vans was doing drugs on the side.  Remember I posted about my brother finding a hundred dollar bill in the gutter between our houses?  Strangers would hang around the guys house all hours. Finally the gods smiled.  He moved.  His replacements are OK.  He rented out his old house.  He's making a mint in his new neighborhood.  He owns a couple of little businesses.  Have wondered if they were a front for drug business.  It's the American way.

Re: Inconsiderate neighbors, do you have one?

@TW   Calling the Sheriff would be a waste of time.  There is a whole good ole boy system here.  Unless a bullet hit our house they wouldn't bat an eye.  Come to think of it, as long as it didn't hit one of us they'd just slap his hand for hitting a house.
