I've been thinking a lot lately, due to forced inactivity (herniated disk), of things and people I haven't thought about in quite some time. One of those people was a good friend of my Mothers - Dorothy.
Dorothy played bridge a lot and once said that before she died she wanted to become a "Master" in Bridge. Clearly, I don't know how to express this properly, so apologies to Bridge players out there.
And kudos to Dorothy, because she did achieve the rank of Master in Bridge.
If you could be the master of something, what would it be?

Of a dog I own. I've owned dogs for 30 years and have never been the alpha of the pack at my house! (The "pack" being me and the dog).

Master of my domicile, where everything stayed neat and clean, in it's place, plants stay watered, dishwasher fill and empty itself, dogs take themselves in and out, etc...

Hi Rebecca,
I prefer being just what I am right now. Can do a lot of things and some call me the proverbial "jack of many trades". That is good enough for me since I've been the leader of way more organizations than I ever wanted to be, especially for someone that was about as introverted as a person can get till after I quit high school and joined the US Army.
Nothing I would like to master. I can play a few musical instruments/know a bit about motor vehicles/pretty good with most electronics(in home especially), and ain't nobody that knows more about ice hockey than me! "chuckle-chuckle".
Hope you are feeling a bit better now. Things going better around here, but my wife has to start her Colonoscopy Prep tonight. She is getting both the upper Endo and the lower mentioned above on Monday. I am getting just the Endo, so no prep for me other than the regular no drinking/eating thing.
With some luck they won't find a problem in either one of us.
Your Friend,
JOhn

Hi, sfnative, Your mother's friend had a good memory--I can never keep track of the bids with bridge!
I would love to be a master chef. All that is keeping me back is talent and time. ![]()
I hope your disc heals up quickly and you are soon feeling much better.
