Re: I'm At That Stage In Life......

it is rare that i wake up at night to use the bathroom.

i go to bed usually between midnigt and 1am.

i may wake up around 6am or so but can crawl right back into bed and fall asleep quickly, especially if it is chilly.

@chickenbutt  i also take a frozen bottle of water to bed with me at night. i get it out maybe around 11ish so that right before i fall asleep some of the ice cold water is ready to drink.

If you are going more than once or twice a night, please have your sugar tested

Re: I'm At That Stage In Life......

My husband gets up to go EVERY night between 2-4 a.m., and I'm awake until he comes back to bed. I will occasionally get up and go simply because I'm lying there awake, but rarely ever do I wake up needing to go.

If it isn't caused by drinking too many liquids after 6-8 pm, there are medical issues that can cause frequency during the wee early morning hours.

@Anonymous032819   I suggest a check-up if this is a new phenomenon for you.

It's called nocturia when you have to get up every night to pee.

Have you been tested for sleep apnea?  The oxygen depletion that occurs during episodes of sleep apnea stimulate blood flow to the kidneys and causes them to produce a larger volume.  From personal experience, I used to get up at least twice during the night.  After being treated for sleep apnea, I hardly ever have to get up.  In fact, in the last 3 1/2 years I can remember only getting up one time.  I can now go at least 10 hours during the night.

Or as Cherry suggested, have your sugars checked.

You might want to monitor salt intake.  If you drink more when salt makes you thirsty it can take a while to work thru the system.

No caffeine after 4 pm, and no liquids after 6 pm. DH is up at least 4-5 times during the night and use different bathrooms so we don’t bump into each other in the dark!
