Re: I know I need to check with my doctor, but in the meantime, just wondering...

I only read your first statement (no comments yet) but you may be allergic in some way to it too. Or something in your system can't handle that. Ya see what your doc can do for you.

My dad was put on some pain killer once and made absolutely NO sense whatsoever. That was awful scary, so this may not be a med your system can handle.

Good luck on that one.

Question: since some here seem to know a lot about this medicine, I have a question. If you care to comment, what is this med usually prescribed for? (As in your knowledge of it). I haven't heard of it before, and I wonder. There's so many we don't know about.

[ Edited ]

I have always made it a point to research any drug prescribed to me.  My unfortunate experiences have proven to me that doctors are not infallible. On a couple of occasions, a Rite Aid pharmacist was able to pick up an issue that my doctors did not.

I think it's critical for everyone to research a drug they have been prescribed to understand what you're putting into your body.....unless you are the kind of person who completely freaks out about listed side effects.

I just researched Augmentin and learned that it is not a drug I could take for a couple of reasons.

It's amoxicillian with something else added.

It was given to my husband twice for ear infections, both times it made him sick as a dog within an hour and he had to have it changed to something else.

Augmentan is very strong, made me very sick to my stomach. So does cypro and flaggl. When I have to take these he now give me a nasua med to counter act it. I would definitely as about that. I can so relate to your issue.

Neither my daughter or my niece can take that, it landed both of them in the emergency room with heart palpitations.

My daughter was 400 miles away at college and had to be taken by ambulance.  Scary for both of them.

I don't know what you mean by this, but I had lengthy conversations with a couple of pharmacists regarding drugs prescribed vis-a-vis my medical history and other factors.  At no time did they consult with a computer.  :-)

@catwhisperer  Did you read the OP's thread title?  I think the OP knows that....

@Pearlee

       See post # 9.

@Tinkrbl44  Nope.  I have my own personal "ignore" list - to the extent I'm able, since the board doesn't have one.
