Ford, I didn't say they came on/were put up at night. They came on early in the day and stayed and stayed well into the night. Two of them had well over a thousand replies if I remember correctly.
You could have posted on them during the day, they were there for hours prior to your 6 pm deadline.
Now I remember what happened!! Our cable was out from the night before to around 2 PM yesterday. I didn't see the posts because I couldn't get on my computer! I probably only stayed on the BB for a few minutes to see if it was working.
I know I would have posted on a celebratory post with 1,000 replies had I seen it!
And also, I say 6 PM is my deadline. Very often I log out long before that because of physical issues. It was my stomach yesterday.

Hi, Lilac Tree. I hope you're doing well. I haven't been on here much at all since they (QVC) changed things up. I still can't get used to it. To me, it seems about the same, as far as having limited choices of topics to talk about.
Btw, I like your profile pic. You have a very pretty smile!

From the comments I've read from the mods, we *are* allowed to discuss current events.
But, they *don't* want us to inject religion or politics into those topics.
Seems pretty clear to undersand, IMO.

Ford, yesterday there were about three discussion lines on the ruling by the Supremes. One lasted for hours, two got very long,
There was also a long discussion on the funeral.
The finding of Richard Matt is still up.
How did you miss all that?
THANK YOU, Moderators for allowing the discussions to run their course!
I posted once on the funeral and the President's eulogy. I don't remember seeing the rest of them. Are they still there? I spend much, much less time on this BB than I did before. I just can't get into it for some reason. I don't know what's missing, I can't put my finger on it.
Hopefully it will get easier for me. I will keep trying. Maybe it's because there are so few nics that I recognize. Plus the mods are really omnipresent to a fault. I'll think of something, and then say "nah, that won't fly," and so I don't post at all.
I'll look for those other threads. Are they in Community Chat?
Well, LilacTree/Ford, this thread seems to be working for you
Seriously though, just start your thread, if it flies it flies and if it doesn't, oh well, crash and burn. I think the problems start with current events threads when the snark starts. We still have some posters lurking around that like nothing better than to see how fast they can take down a decent thread with their snark.
I'm very happy to see you and some of my other favorite posters starting to adjust(as I am adjusting) and post again. I've been boored silly

Seemed like a clear statement of fact to me. No subtle jabs about it. - I miss the ignore button -.
I agree.

I've read that, too. But its not really being done in practice. I have posted, generally, always in a supportive manner.
And even when I posted a new thread this morning, I went out of my way to ask that no one make it religious and/or political.
It was asked with social etiquette, and society's general word use-level. It was not asked in any inflammatory or baiting manner. Again, it was clearly indicted BY ME in the original question to not make it about religion or politics.
And yet, within MOMENTS the thread disappeared - without any explanation and not even one of those "This was moved to...due to..." commentaries by the mods.
It just POOF! Disappeared.
THEN! When I posted a 2nd thread asking WHY or what was so out of bounds about the 1st posted thread, that one TOO went POOF nearly immediately.
It was all asked in the most civil, polite manner indicating clearly it was not my intention NOR INTEREST for the original question to become religious or political.
And there STILL was no reply...just POOF.
And no indication as to why or that it moved due to some violation.
It takes people time and effort to make posts. To only see them then go POOF when the user has GONE OUT OF HIS/HER WAY to make the post as civil and adhering to "the rules" as possible makes zero sense (and is annoying - to say the least).
And then when there is no real genuine method to even ask the mods something makes it all the more annoying. They could explain a POOF either publicly or privately. They usually (but not always) explain a "moved to" deletion. But not a complete and total POOF.

Lilac Tree,
To me, it matters as much--or more--with whom you post as to what you post.
While DH and I were raising a child who participated in competitive athletics, we taught him it was as important to learn to win graciously as to how to lose. For when he was in the winner’s circle, my DH’s favorite lesson was, “Act like you’ve been there before, Son.”
Yesterday, what I saw among some of the celebrators (certainly not all, mind you) was a smug, sanctimonious attitude that illustrated someone unaccustomed to winning, therefore never learning how to be gracious in the process. Such behavior was bait for emotional responses, which is exactly what ensued. Some of the responsibility falls onto Moderators, possibly inexperienced or untrained, who used an unbalanced scale throughout the Forums for determining what was or was not acceptable exchange. This exacerbated the situation, imho.
While some thought yesterday was a "Beautiful Day," I felt I witnessed an ugly cross-section of American intolerance for freedom of opinion. Based on just this QVC Forum, I was not proud of us and therefore chose not to associate.

So OP are you saying that if you can't talk about yourself you have nothing to contribute? That's sad.
As others have said, many discussion are allowed as long as they follow standards. The deliberate thread bombing to get it removed is nothing new and now we know where we stand.

Which fine by me, but we all have people we don't really care for, including myself so this place is no different. Those who can't handle it, well I don't know what other recourse they have but to leave. Personally I found it useless since the 'offender', unless they are a complete social outcast would be quoted repeatedly through the thread.
