It sounds like you have a nice group of neighbors/friends.Smiley Happy

@Jackhound Mom I think you handled it well.  I'm guessing Barb was appreciative of your efforts.  😊

@Jackhound Mom,    These ladies do not sound like friend material.   They could be jealous that you put this luncheon together.  That last comment was surely uncalled for.   Pick and choose your friends.  Calling someone and they won't pick up but will for another neighbor -- you don't need friends like that!

I don't know my neighbors too much, especially to have a lunch date.

"Mama got rocks" means you have money. (to burn)

They are your neighbors, not your good friends, you don't have to like everyone.

Brush it off, maybe try to get together with the ones who were nice.

I am sorry you weren't treated nicely. Smiley Sad

You didn't deserve that.

Hi Van,

One was right next to me and the other was across from her.

The only thing that had happened in our past was that Susie & the OP  had Holiday parties.  Most of the street was invited to both. DH & I both had pneumonia and couldn't go but we sent a platter of fruit and dip to one and a gift for the grandchild to the OP's party.

In January when I was better I baked bread for the entire street which took me 2 days.  I usually do it in December.  I don't want to do that much this year as it was harder than I thought.

Enjoy your day,

Cat

Can you tell me what you mean by "OP" in this context? On a message board, "OP" usually means the "original poster" (of the thread), which would be you.  But I don't think you're talking about yourself in the 3rd person...

Kat, thanks but it was just a few calls.  I would have done it for any of my neighbors.

Missy, that's how I took the "got rocks" remark but believe me I'm the most basic woman on the street.  I knew Barb a little better than the rest and sense I asked her I planned on treating her.  One lady even gave her a hand made gift!

Noel, yes my future plans will just be with all the sweethearts that do live in my hood!

Pq, Thanks!

Ok, I feel that we have covered it and I sincerely appreciate your input.  I will hopefully be able to weigh in or offer help to you all sometime down the road.

Have a fantastic weekend and I will be back soon.

XO, cAT
