Last night was wonderful watching I Love Lucy. Loved watching reruns after school every afternoon while growing up and still will watch as an adult if I am home from work if I can find one.

Last year, someone posted that Amazon had the entire I Love Lucy series available on sale and I bought it!

Good TV viewing!

Thanks.....I have seen all the episodes over and over and always enjoy them like it was the first time....CBS I get....so I will tune in....

Thanksgiving there was a marathon of them....unfortunately my Hallmark channel must be different then others as mine was showing Christmas shows....but nothing Lucy related...I was sooooooooooo disappointed....

There are 2 Hallmark Channels, one just does movies. Check both next time.

My channel has I Love Lucy all year round except November and December when there are Christmas movies, over kill, I say.

It's funny. Lucy had a radio show with Richard Denning as her husband. The story is that Lucy wanted to keep her eyes on Desi and get him off the road. Lucy and Desi pitched the idea of "I Love Lucy" to the CBS executives. The latter wouldn't touch it because they didn't believe people would "buy" Lucy being married to Desi. Lucy and Desi took their show on the road and it worked great. Lucy and Desi put up the money, found technical people who'd pursue the concept of a 3 camera filming process. The rest is history.

They wanted children, and with Desi on the road, that was pretty much making it impossible.

I truly believe that Desi had a roving eye, that is why Lucy was smart enough to divorce him, but he was the love of her life.

I didn't realize that Lucie was a bit older than Desi, Jr. Lucie was born in 1951 and Desi, Jr. was born in 1953.

I remember them being on some of the "here's Lucy" shows. Time sure does fly by.

In an interview I've seen, Lucy said Desi could be self-destructive: If everything was going smoothly, he'd find a way to botch things up. Oooo, that would be tough to live with. She kept the business going, but he was more fun-loving. He was a good Dad, though - His children have said he played with them, and taught them to appreciate nature.

Lucy was already in her early 40's when she had her children, unusual for back then. She was 5 years older than Desi.

Lucy was six years older than Desi. She was born in 1911, and he was born in 1917.
