You want a separate forum to announce when people have died???? Not sure why those threads are bothersome, just scroll on by.
@RainyDayGal, yes I do find it bothersome..
Some times I am so darn sorry I respond to threads...
My apologies.. geesh!

I'm really not interested and don't even open these threads. You have to be a very shallow, superficial person to be so enthralled with this type of news. I couldn't care less. There are many, many more interesting people who die and we don't hear a word about it.
Shallow and superficial? You should tell that to the Acadamy Awards and award shows like the Emmy's that every year honor those that have passed from the year before. Honoring the deceased and not merely ignoring it... having nothing to do with being enthralled with the news rather respecting someone's life's work.

That's really uncalled for, judgemental, and without evidence.
So the rule of thumb for you seems to be that if you don't care, no one should. Eye roll please.

No one here knows that person.
I have to agree with you on that.

Oh I guess my email to you went into outer space when your poor computer was sick but I did answer you back.
@Suziepeach, no, I received it, and flagged it. Have several others I need to respond to. But the print on my e-mail is rather small and when my vision is blurred, as it is today, I find it hard to type. Between the vision and tingling in my hands, sometimes typing drives me crazy.
I'm loving the answers we are getting on here. I was curious, and even said I have done it once or twice. I don't have facebook, and never will..... The first thing I see on my computer once I've signed in is the MSN face page provided by Charter, my internet provider.
@ShowMe, thanks for letting me know you got it... That's fine, I sure understand what you're going through.. just know I am thinking about you & sending you major hugs...

It's about our mortality. Posting with posters who DO care about the death of someone we grew up with whether we knew that person or not. Being able to commiserate with one another over the death of someone we knew since our youth .....a feeling of comradrie in the tough times.

Hey Showme, I don't mind. I will say only one thread is needed. I had no idea Gary Shandling died until I just read it here.

My first thought after seeing the news feed is "I wonder who'll be the first in getting this on the forum." I rarely open the thread, since I've already read about it ...
