Re: I Hate Amazon!

Yeah, they did that to me, too. The worst part is, they keep charging you each month for Prime! At least they did me. Except I was not a prime member. My bank took over because i couldn't find a number to call. Emails fell on deaf ears. (eyes?) Then on a high frustration day I was relentless. I found a website that cancels Amazon prime. Took two minutes and the nightmare was over. I only wish I had written it down but in my elation I didn't think of it.

The internet is our friend--- it amazes me what one can find..... I found a You Tube Video that showed how to find a "secret" number on Amazon's website so you can talk to a real person or even faster, you click a link  and they call you back within 60 seonds......Sorry but it gives one cause to pause when an enterprise HIDES a telephone number when its a complicated issue and one needs help and difficult to settle through emails, automated phone prompts and/or even live chats.....SMH!

I've had Amazon's phone number for years. Never heard that they were hiding their number. The number has been posted here so many times. It is also in my contacts because I prefer to talk to a person.

I have been buying from Amazon for about 15 years now, and I must say I find their service to be pretty good!  I DO NOT have Prime, because I don't buy enough to make it worth that exhorbitant annual plus monthly fee!  If you spend more than $50 on an order

(cumulative!!) there is usually free shipping anyway.

I have only ever had a problem with a delivery one time, and a call to customer service had me a refund in minutes!!!

I am very leery of ANY emails that I get and if a check of my bank statement doesn't show a purchase then the email is deleted without opening.

It is either annual or monthly, not both. And before this recent increase it was $119 a year which is like the equivalent of maybe 2 orders per month ($4.95 S&H each order) and you get your orders within 2 days. Plus you get Prime Video included. So definitely not "exorbitant".

What I can't justify is spending up to $50 to get the free shipping.

I prefer talking to Amazon's customer service through chat. That way I have proof of what was said and agreed to.

I am very comfortable buying from Amazon. I just don't respond to emails.  If I need to make contact I call them directly and never use any phone number sent to me.  There are lots of Amazon scams out there.  My very smart friends have been caught up in them.  I use my cursor to scan over the address and always notice  that the address is totally bogus, actually in some cases comical.

I am a Prime Member and appreciate all the rewards that comes with it.

@Sage04    I received a. Price from Amazon advising of the price increase for a membership from $119 to $139.  It's also been in the news.  No scam

@Teddixat  yes it's been in the News so I know it's not a scam. We were talking about the email that @Biftu  received about her Prime Membership when she does not have Prime. I'm sure the email is somewhere  in the tons of emails we receive but ours does not go in effect until December 2022.

I find trying to locate phone numbers and Live Chat on Amazon near impossible.  That's one thing that is not easily located and needs to be made much simpler.

When did their free shipping go up to $50?  I just ordered this morning and only needed a minimum of $25 to qualify for free shipping.
