i have only ordered items from Amazon a few times.  I got an email today alerting me of the new Prime rates going up.  I have never signed up for Prime.  After looking everywhere I finally found a number to call to insure they did not have me as a Prime member.  The first rep I got actually disconnected me and the noise in the background was deafening.  They wanted so much information just to check my account.  I tried again after being disconnected and went through the same spiel.  This guy said I was a Prime member since December but had no information to show when I signed up or what credit card would be credited or when.  Although as of yet I have seen no charge to my account he said he would credit my account.  He said he would send me an email confirming our call.  What I got was a questionnaire about the service I received, nothing about the context of the call.  I'm frustrated with this whole experience and know why I have only bought the few items from Amazon I could not fine elsewhere.  Just had to let out my frustration. Never buying from them again.

@Biftu I agree, this sounds like a scam.  The correct customer service number is 888 280 4331. If you used any number on the email it's fake.

Their Live Chat also works quite well.

I had to place my first customer service call to Amazon today. I do have prime, placed a order the end of January for a cordless hand held vac but got a msg a few days later that it had been returned to the manufacture due to weather conditions. I discovered they never credited my account. I could not find a contact number for customer service but finally did and called them. They did refund my money back to my credit card and my rewards points then sent me a email confirmation of the refund.  If I hadn't gone back to check on the transaction they would have kept my money so I will surely watch what I buy from now on.

@Biftu  hope you didn't give out information that would come back to bite you. Not seeing a charge on your statement would have made me think it was a mistake.

Our Prime was renewed in December as usual and we have not received a notice about the increase as yet althought  we know about it.

We love Amazon and have been Prime Members since the begining and will continue.

Please keep checking your statement for a Credit. Hope it's legit!!

@Love my grandkids

I confirm the cs # 888-280-4331. That's the number I called for CS today..  Yes, the prime rate is going up by $20. I did receive a email about that and it was also on the news here so it is true

@Biftu  the only questions I have been asked are the email address associated with the account and the home address. Nothing else and about the noise, can't say that has ever happened.

Hope it wasn't a scam as @Janey2  suggested.

@Love my grandkids  That is the number I called.  Actually there was no number listed to call in the email.  It was not a scam.  I hope i never have to call or do business with them again.

@Biftu , Go to your Amazon account and click on Memberships and subscriptions. If you are a prime member your info will be there.
