Could be percerived that way, but I am not on their payroll and I hope it sent a message that having just one or two registers open on a major shopping day is poor judgement. I use them when I have a small order. At Walmart in the early morning, the only lanes open are self checkout.

I wish more stores would adopt Scan and Go like Sam's. Club.

Before Covid, our Fry's stores had a similar system like Scan and Go, but stopped it because you had to use a hand held scanner.

Ok..I'm a horrible human being! In order to get some things done with the right person you have to do what you have to do...I'm sure that girl got more training.
