Re: How often do you

[ Edited ]

The only thing worse than a Karen is an Arrogant Karen, since I assume a Karen to be arrogant by definition!

So double the privileged arrogance.

The only store around here that I'm aware of that users scanners is CVS.  I don't shop there.

I don't understand taking a perfectly good name like Karen and turning it into a slur.

What if someone suddenly did that to your name?

What about Dumb Dora, Chatty Cathy, Regina vacuums, Alexa...? No name is sacred.

I usually get an annoyed look..I tell them I do not work or get paid from the store to work...

@Jo1313 what a spiteful nasty thing to do. You sound like one of those difficult customers.  And since you have shoulder problems & need help bagging you should use the regular checkout.

Exactly.  I would hate to be the customer behind her.

@BarbieDollToo  Not to mention the poor cashier.

I doubt her response was with a kind voice.

Looking for the cashier another time? Sounds as though she's hoping the cashier was fired. All over her stupid groceries.

The entitlement is astounding.

I use them when I have a small order. At Walmart in the early morning, the only lanes open are self checkout.

I wish more stores would adopt Scan and Go like Sam's. Club.

Before Covid, our Fry's stores had a similar system like Scan and Go, but stopped it because you had to use a hand held scanner.

@Jo1313  -  That is indeed a mean thing to do.  Why would you do that?   Awful.

Ok..I'm a horrible human being! In order to get some things done with the right person you have to do what you have to do...I'm sure that girl got more training.

ITA that it's not a nice thing to do.  Why not just use regular checkout like most people would?

@deeva  I do LIKE Sam's scan & go. So convenient! Wish Costco had it, too.

One thing I have never ever done and will not do is purchase something under lock and key.

I will go elsewhere or order online.  In NYC almost all laundry products are now locked up so I always go to Amazon for those.  The nearest grocery store sounds a shrill alarm if you open up the ice cream freezer!

I don't appreciate being treated as a potential thief, so no sale.

But I'll pay extra to use a self checkout lane!

@They CallMe MRWILKES

How is that supposed to work, anyway?

All those huge jugs of laundry soap ... do they think we're going to shove them in our pants thinking no one would notice if we try to walk out?

I rarely buy anything under lock and key .... I'm a big label reader and if I can't examine the instructions, dosages or ingredients, or whatever, they can forget it!
