I cry myself to sleep every night....
‎03-26-2015 04:37 AM
For me, the older I get the more I understand that crying is a stage of grief that needs to be passed through, so I am free to express it. Practice makes perfect, right. When we are older we have been through it so often. Last week was filled with tears for me since I found out that my elderly fur grandbaby has advanced lymphoma and one of my cousins was a victim of domestic violence and was buried on her 66th birthday. Seems like yesterday that they were both young.

I guess I'm an emotional person. I could cry at the drop of the hat! I know that every time I even think of my mom (who's been gone now for 12 years) I have tears sting my eyes. I could just give her a passing thought and I feel the tears coming. I've always heard that time heals the hurt, well its not working for me.

In the past couple years and the closer I get to Peri I am much more emotional...
Stella- my dad used to say ""If you are going to cry i will give you something more to cry about""...
I learned at a VERY young age to keep a stiff upper lip...
I got that ""I'll give you something to cry about"" line from my mom and dad too. I think they were uncomfortable with feeling their feelings and projected it onto me and my sisters. I resent it to this day.

I'm so sorry to hear that. That's tragic. I wish you better days and good health.

(((((((((((fourpaws))))))))))) Do you have someone to talk to? I would be happy to talk with you about whatever it is, but not sure you want to post it on an open forum. Sometimes it helps to just get things off your chest.

I thought yesterday I'd cry about the plane that went down. I held it together, but this is so incredibly sad! The whole mess. All the innocents. Every time I hear of an airliner going down, for some reason, my mind says I hope no babies. This one had babies and a number of children (Young people). It was on the news all day yesterday it seemed and it was just so sad. Every channel almost.

I cry occasionally. Usually because something has touched me deeply, or someone else is hurting, or I am hurting.

I have a good cry about once every 4 or 5 years. I'm overdue for a good cry.
