Re: How do you Deal with Rejection?

I allow myself to feel the hurt. Cry, scream, whatever it takes to get through to the other side...and realize the other side is always there. Just give yourself enough time to get there. Too often I didn't recognize the sadness I was feeling & just let it go. It came back later to bite me in the a--s! Work through your feelings alone or with a friend, but be sure you're over the rejection before moving on.

No this has nothing to do with a guy. I just ask in general. And most of my family has had to deal with rejection that you couldn't imagine. If you told me 15 years ago that we would be dealing with some of the issues we've encountered, I would have never believed you. Thanks for your kind words.😊

Are you speaking of rejection, persecution or discrimination?   If most of your family has had to deal with "rejection, " in truth most humans have had to deal with it from time to time.  It's not a bed of roses out in the world and what most of us try for, will from time to time, not be ours for the taking.

This goes back to the thread about what makes a confident person.

There is a meme going around that says:

I would rather be someone's shot of whiskey than everyone's cup of tea.

You can't be everyone's cup of tea and to try to be would be futile and basically waste your time.

Love only those who love you.  This is universal to all things.

For example:  Why shop at the Q if you hate their shipping prices?

Why chase a man who is not intersted in you?

Why stay in a job where you are yelled at and not appreciated?

etc.

etc.

So how you deal with rejection is to go towards the people who love you and away from the people who don't.

Re: How do you Deal with Rejection?

How do your family members deal with the rejection that you say is so extreme that we would not believe it?  I think if this were so you might have learned ways to deal with it.  Even if it were just the garden variety of rejection that people deal with every day.  Did the family members just curl up and quit?  Or did they find ways to move on?

You tell yourself it wasn't meant to be and move on...
