@yamma024 wrote:@JoyFilled Warrior You could write your contacts and numbers down on a piece of paper. Keep in a safe place

Hi @yamma024
Great idea. I did this for my last Cell, to this newest upgrade.
But my list is wayyy outdated, and besides, I'm amidst confusion. I moved in the last 2 mos. But I could start all over. I just might, just for my assurance. but sure would like to avoid. It's soooo time consuming.

Aside from my Cell technical ignorance, uploading my Contact List somewhere, (& Cell Phone in general), I didnt know where to trust, that wouldnt gobble up my Contact List & pummel my contacts on my list for their own spam! (maybe distrusting to fault??)

@KittySoftPaws wrote:@JoyFilled Warrior That would not be an easy thing to do. That's not one of those things you would just stumble into without knowing you were actually doing it. It would take consientious effort to delete your contacts. You got this!
@KittySoftPaws it happens. It's not that someone necessarily deletes the info. The phone may malfunction and the info gets deleted. I've seen many Facebook posts of people asking their friends to send them their contact info after having to get a new phone and the info could not be transferred.

Guess should go back to "the cell phone store".
I have had my phone for at least 2 years. Rarely use it only to text friends about our activities.
Lately I have been getting voicemails. Tried to open voicemails. It wants a password or code. I do not remember any password or code. Tried to delete voicemails and can't.
So I am stuck with voicemails that I can't open and can't delete.

There are things in life you never knew you needed until you got one. A cell phone is a perfect example. I'm sure, throughout the history of mankind, man thought he didn't need some new fandangled product but then discovered how wrong he was. Things like the wheel or eating utensils or plumbing or cars or mascara and blow dryers.
Definitely, but I'll never own a smart phone b/c I'm physically challenged. With the way my hands are messed up, it makes it impossible to hold on to or use a cell phone. I've tried using other peoples' smart phones but it's not possible.

You're not stuck with voicemails you can't listen to. If you can't remember your password you can reset it or you can call your carrier and they will help you. If you don't know how to reset your password, you can Google that information. I've had it up to my ear balls with passwords. The industry has gone nuts requiring passwords for everything under the sun. It's a good thing Google offers to remember the passwords for you or I might have thrown in the towel a long time ago. I know it's a compromise and a potentially dangerous one to let Google remember my passwords but I simply can't do it. Yes I know there are password apps. And I have all my passwords saved but I'm not going to spend all the time it would take to open up that program find my password, copy it and paste it.
Thanks. @monicakm for your reply. I also am so tired of dealing with passwords.
My husband has a 100+ page binder of all of our passwords. You should see some of the pages, they are filled with changes. Some companies want you to change your password frequently.
Plus I found out that a family member (not living in our house) tried to have himself added to one of our accounts.
So I am just letting the voicemails pile up for the moment. My phone carrier has really good customer service so when I am no longer spooked out by someone trying to add themselves to our account, I will change my password with my carrier.
This is my theory. If whoever is leaving a voicemail were a friend they would just email or phone me. Someone leaving a voicemail is trying to sell me an extended warranty or sell me something I don't care to buy.

Start with knowing your type of phone, & also what carrier provides your cell service, then ask the questions online or from the carrier since it varies from one to another. Ita about YouTube video help being a great source as well. š
