I told my son, don't make fun of me asking for help or questions about my cell phone. I once taught you how to use a spoon.🤣

Honestly, I just use my cell phone for emergency calls when I am out and about. Not really interested in all the other functions other than the camera.

I've found that every question I've ever had about my cell phone or laptop can be answered by entering the question in a google search. There are always multiple reputable places to find accurate answers.
Just recently, like last week, I found out that I can copy text or photos from my MacBook Air laptop, and paste it onto my Apple cell phone, and vice-versa. That blew my mind! Just normal copy & paste between the two; no airdrop, uploads, downloads -- none of that.
Last week. 🤔

I don't and that's why I own a flip phone.
Never owned a smart phone b/c I never needed one.

I learn a lot from my kids and googling. Also, social media often has helpful tips and tricks on cell phones too.

The most recent thing I'm nervous about is - What if something happens & I lose all the Contacts in it?? That seems kinda irreplaceable, yet critical.
You didn't mention whether your phone is Android or Apple, but on my IPhone I have it set to save everything to iCloud once a day. So all of my contacts are on the cloud, able to be retrieved at any time. There's no 'losing' them. If a truck runs over the phone, those contacts could be downloaded onto a new phone. I have no one handy to show me how to do things on my phone so I use Google as some others have mentioned.

@JoyFilled Warrior You could write your contacts and numbers down on a piece of paper. Keep in a safe place

I depend on my grown kids most times--but usually I can figure out stuff by just pressing the buttons--haven't done any harm yet. I like going to google or YT , but I really like the going to your cell phone provider suggestion too. Unless it is trac fone--but any cell provider will help.

I have a Apple family and those phones have a user guide. Or Google is always your friend.
It you are concerned about contacts, you can have have them backed up to the cloud. Once you have your contacts complete you can also use this feature for call blocking. A remarkable tool.
A smart phone is just a tool to help you get through life. This morning I am working on my grocery list, handy for sure.
