We were set up together in a wedding.

Married over 30 years.

We met on a blind date and hit it off from the start.

Went out for an evening of oldies music and dance and my DH came across the room to meet me.

23 years married!

We met at a small local airport and had the same flight instructor back in 2005. We became very close in a short amount of time and within a month, he asked me to marry him. This is my 2nd marriage (after 21 years to my first and a control freak) and I'm his 3rd (his first wife decided she liked "females" better, and his second lost a boatload of weight and decided she didn't love him anymore but was able to get a gastric bypass on his health insurance. When we met, he and his second wife were already separated, although still married on paper.

After meeting him, I realized that I never knew what love really was before because we had such an emotional connection that I never experienced with my first.

We ended up getting married under the wing of the plane that brought us together at the local airport where we met. It was a small wedding and since my dad had passed, I asked my chiropractor who I have known since 2000 to help me get out of the plane after being taxied down the runway. He said he would be honored.

We went on our 2 week honeymoon to Jackson, Wyoming and Mt. Rushmore, South Dakota and it was the best trip I ever shared with anyone.

It was a very special day for us and the weather was beautiful. We have pictures of us on our wedding day standing under the wing saying our vows.

Back in the days where there were Old Time Music bands - polkas and waltzes, we met at a dance - in August we'll be married 50 years!

After having been seriously involved with "my first love" for over a year while in college, this "love" dumped me. Didn't see it coming, but knew that being on the rebound, I didn't want to get involved with anyone for a while, because my feelings were still rather raw.

Enter ex-boyfriend's sister who really was sweet and smarter than her brother. She said she had someone in her poly-sci that she wanted to introduce me to. I said, "No way, Kathleen. I told you no boys until I get over your i-i-t brother." Well, she arranged it anyway, letting this guy know exactly where I'd be around classes, walking between this and that building. So eventually here comes this guy with Kathleen about 30 feet behind him. Introductions were made. He was forward - way too forward - and I told him I wasn't interested in guys just then.

He persisted to no avail. Went off to Europe for 3 months during summer break. Sent me goopy love letter, at which I laughed. When he returned he invited me out to dinner to a 5 star restaurant in SF. I couldn't say no to that, so had to go.

We married two and a half years later in Grace Cathedral and celebrated our 45th anniversary in January.

At work. He pretty regularly passed my office & one day stopped by to get a piece of candy from the big bowl I kept on my desk for visitors. This started to become a regular occurrence. The courtship is still underway.
