@noodleann That quilt top Tess was on is not my favorite. A young woman who is a friend of the family asked DD to make her a quilt. She's 24 and she wanted black, red and white.
DD has one quilt at the place that has a long arm machine. As soon as it's done DD will hand sew the binding, wash it and box it for our neighbor. She just retired and loves flowers, so the quilt is flower themed. I will be sure to get pics.

I used to be a warrior when it came to shopping. Most of the time maybe I'd buy one thing after spending hours in a store...one like Kohls...hours.
To this day favorite stores are Lowes and Home Depot. I love walking around looking at everything, especially the tools. Weird? Yes I'm aware of how weird I am.
But slowly as my back has gotten so bad over the years I've found I can't do that any longer. Standing on those cement floors does a job on my knees (2 fake knees) and my horrible back pain....I'm done in about 1/2 hour.
But I'm so freaking hard headed...(a major flaw). I still walked up and down every aisle in the store (grocery) and stood and talked to friends at the CVS. I had to explain where I'd been for 4 months...but it was nice to hear I was missed (was it me or my Cheryl's cookies I give everyone...Ha).
To summarize all of this bla bla...I can still spend a good amount of time talking to people and walking the aisles.
I'm a people person. This virus thing has been terrible for me. I've always known I get my emotional strength from talking to everyone, especially strangers.
I was determined not to let the back pain, my life being reorganized and lack of being around other humans...get me down.
I was determined to think about how much of everything my glass was filled....and not just filled but overflowing.
I even managed to add to my prayers every night to ask GOD to give support to the people and families who lost loved one's due to this horrible virus.
I love coming here. There are so many intelligent and kind people. I've learned so much here. There's always the QVC forum.

@CrazyKittyLvr2 wrote:in one store? I was/am an in, get what I want, and out person. So was my Mother. My MIL on the other hand could go all day and spend 2 hrs. in each place she went. Needless to say I never went with her, it would have driven me crazy. She is the reason my DH hated shopping, she would drag her kids along. Not fun when you are a little kid. He learned I was not his Mother and it wasn't an all day event with me.
My DD takes after her GM. She left at 8:45 am to go to a huge fabric shop 2 hrs. away. Then she going to a restaurant/shopping complex we like to get a couple things. She said, "I'll be home about 5pm." Huh? She said she will be at least 2 hrs. at the fabric place.
Last night she announced her plans for today and asked if I wanted to go. My response was, "You've known me your whole life. When have I ever liked schlepping in a store for hours? Thanks, but no thanks."
Years ago she talked her Dad and I going to Philly. We HAD to go to Ikea. Nope, after 1/2 hr. I had enough, wasn't impressed and went to the car. DH went with me. He said, God, she's just like Mother with shopping.
Are you in and out or a marathoner?
@CrazyKittyLvr2 I used to enjoy several hours of shopping, a stop for lunch or coffee and maybe sitting on a bench in the mall people watch. Not anymore...with all this going on and the blasted mask to wear, I have a list and am in and out pronto. Mall shopping is minimal. I order most of what I need (not much now) online.

I confess. Before I cured myself of shopohlism, I was in Paris with a friend of like mind. Our husbands, who worked together, were there on business. My friend and I were left to explore the city on our own. I speak French so the fun was magnified when we went to the Champs-Élysées. We spent a full three hours at Sephora. It was memorable.

Before my aunt died she would spend 4 hours in a grocery store. She would look at labels, scope out new products etc.. Once I took her to run errands and we stopped in Albertsons and we spent 2 hours and never made it out of the bakery section. No lie. Drove me nuts. I on the other hand can be quick or dawdle, just depends on the store and how long it's been since I've been in a particular store.

In and out due to budget constraints. I've never been a browser when it comes to shopping.

I have always viewed shopping in stores as time wasted that I can't get back; I really do not like wasting minutes of my life walking around in a store looking for stuff to spend my money on. My goal is get in, get out, move on.
To reduce outings, I order as much as I can and have a standing list of larger size items I buy at Sams Club. I mainly shop at IGA during senior hour, and my trip last week was $275 worth in just under 20 minutes. What a relief to be good for another month!

I am an unapologetic marathoner 😉
I'll admit, people don't exactly line up, to go shopping with me. That's OK.
A lot of times, it's better to go alone. I don't like shopping, if I feel I'm under a time constraint. No, I cannot afford that $15,000 bracelet, in the jewelry store, and no, I don't need a new laptop, but what's wrong with browsing😈
My SO is a good sport, when we Christmas shop. Generally, though, when I ask him, if he wants to go shopping with me, he just laughs!

it depends upon the store.
Hardware store I do not want to be in it--husband loves them.
Knotting store I could be in there for hours --same for a book store.
Clothing/ dept store it depends upon the store and if I am looking for something in particular or just "window shopping".
Grocery stores--tend to be in and out.

Now, as little as possible.
Pre-Covid, it would depend: which store, why there, what else i had to do that day, how crowded, etc.
