Re: How Many Second Chances Should A Cheater Get

[ Edited ]

While it would be easy to say none, I think there are too many variables.  For one thing, folks have very different definitions of what constitutes cheating.  And married couples all have different histories, priorities and goals as a couple.

Also, there are some marriages where cheating occurred and that was the catalyst to either get help or walk away.  As a result, some of those marriages are stronger and have lasted longer than marriages where no cheating has occurred.

I don't necessarily see a woman (or a man) as weak or stupid if they forgive or overlook, simply because sometimes it takes a really strong person to move forward with their spouse and put the past behind them.  They may be taking a risk but sometimes it pays off.  Not everyone is willing to automatically throw away an entire life together because one of them "cheated".

I wouldn't worry about Sharon O. She's pretty tough.

No second chances for cheaters.  Cheating once is enough for me.

My .02 cents:

When serial cheating is going on and the spouse decides to stay I sometimes think the relationship is more of a business arrangement than a marriage. Rockers usually are notorious cheaters, yes, even at Ozzy's age. Sharon was a groupie who snagged him from his 1st wife. That darn Karma.

That's not for me but what other people do is their business, not mine.

Then why bother getting married. Live together and have an non monogamous relationship.
