OK now that we're confessing who has bread in their freezer and how much? I live alone but I have bagels, hot dog rolls, dinner rolls and hoagie rolls in mine.

My mother in law thought that I was nuts but that's coming from a woman who bought two rolls at a time. When my ex and I would go visit I brought my own with me in fear that there wasn't going to be any available.
Oh goodness @JaneMarple this really hit home . . . I already knew my marriage was in trouble but one of the tipping points was when I brought home a 12 pack of toilet paper instead of our usual 4 pack . . . when I was going through the divorce negotiations my lawyer said my now ex would try and woo me back and I told him flat out no that wasn't going to happen until he ran out of toilet paper . . . and I was right . . .
I'm literally laughing out loud, you win best post of the night.
@JaneMarple I know, right? I just remember sitting with all of these stuffy lawyers and everyone being so serious and all I kept thinking was when he runs out of supplies that's when he's going to notice maybe things aren't going his way . . . thank goodness that is in my rearview mirror! ![]()

@JaneMarple....I have one loaf of bread in my freezer. I don't each much bread, so take out one slice at a time if I want some.

I also have an "ample" supply of batteries. Ok....ok.... more than ample. AA, AAA, C, D, 9 Volt and the little button batteries.
We went to Costco and Sam's the other day and the large packs of AA, C, D and 9 volt batteries made their way home with us to join their friends that are already packed away in a LARGE PLASTIC CONTAINER, organized by type- LOL. Because, if they're at Costco and Sam's, they have to be a good deal, right?
My husband always kids with me about my battery supply, especially as we head toward winter. I'm always preparing for a mammoth ice or snow storm. Which makes sense, except we live in the SOUTH.
We certainly have had our share of nasty winter events, but it's not the norm.
I could light the runways at Atlanta's airport using my flameless candles, regular candles, lantern and flashlight stash.
I'm always preparing for the Apocolypse.
Oh @gidgetgh it really is too bad that you and I don't live next door to each other as we could probably cut a lot of our costs in half knowing we could share . . . I have so many batteries it isn't even funny. I used to use a ton during the holiday season to light up wreaths/swags etc. but now am happy to just have the greenery hence my overage of leftover batteries. I could light up a nuclear power plant with the batteries I have in reserve . . . gah!
@momtochloe- Two winters ago, they were calling for us to get hit with snow- kind of a rarity for us. A friend of mine, who lives about 3 miles away, called me in a panic the night it was supposed to hit. She said she'd been so busy at work, that she was low on supplies- no batteries, candles, etc. and that her teenage son was a little concerned at her lack of preparedness. I told her to "come on over".
She drove over and in the 5 minutes it took her to get here, I had gathered two terrific tiny, but powerful lanterns I'd gotten from Amazon (had given one to everyone on my Christmas list that year), batteries, two flameless candles and 6 regular tapered candles (she had taper holders). And a pack of matches.
She was in awe. We didn't end up getting any snow and the next day she returned all my supplies, AFTER she had ordered two of the lanterns from Amazon.

I'm picking myself up off the floor.......my belly hurts.......sitting in the office, laughing my head off..........my DH thinks I've lost it!!!!!![]()
The last two threads I read tonight, have, HANDS DOWN, put me in the best mood for a quiet Saturday night. Feet up, word search book in one hand, adult beverage in the other. Can it get any better than that, I ask you????????? Maybe 2 adult beverages????? One can dream, can't they??
Best wishes for a easy-going, so to speak, test. You'll do just fine and after, get the biggest cup of coffee you can carry. Maybe 2 would be better in this instance, as well.![]()

So this is what this forum has been reduced to? So sad.

@gidgetgh bless you for helping your friend and thank goodness you have the resources to do so. If this thread had taught me anything it's that I need to use up my battery stockpile before it goes bad so this Christmas it is going to be lights-a-palooza at Casa mtc . . . at least until my battery stash is depleted . . . . ![]()
Please know I stocked up on all of this as my mom enjoyed Christmas decorations but for me just having the greenery is enough but my neighbors are in for treat this year!

@3suwm5 Sometimes we need a laugh instead of reading about sad or bad news stories.

I went grocery shopping Friday morning and at the top of the list was TP. Fortunately I had checked the night before and *gasp* I had only ONE roll in the cupboard and each bathroom had two spare rolls. NOT enough. Now there's a pack of 12 Mega Rolls in the cabinet. I would buy more but storage is an issue. For now, anyway. Once I clean out the other cupboard of his Nat Geo magazines I can fully stock up.
When one used to live 30 minutes from the nearest grocery store one learns in a whopping big hurry what NOT to run out of.

I also have a rubber tub filled with spare batteries. Any size and I've got them. Costco is fabulous for having good deals on batteries-and so many things around the house need a battery or two or three.
I have a double pack of D batteries for the LED lantern that I bought a few years ago, you know, in case of a power outage. Haven't had to use the darn thing yet. But if I ever do, it can run for weeks with all the batteries I bought for it.
Over prepared, that's my middle name.
