Re: How Do I Get Rid of Air Pack Shipping Material?

You don't have to cut or poke a hole in each pillow, usually one will deflate the entire row.

Re: How Do I Get Rid of Air Pack Shipping Material?

A local group of people collects plastic wrapping (bags, bubble wrap, air packs, etc) and turns it in every month to Trex, the company that makes decking. I believe Trex uses the plastic in their products. For every 500 lbs we turn in to Trex, Trex gives our town a very nice bench. I think the town has received 6 benches through this program so far. They have been placed in parks, downtown, in front of the library, etc. Great program and it keeps the plastic out of the landfill.

I fill ALL my purses with them when not in use!  If they pop after a long time or deflate, just wait for your next order!!!

@PickyPicky3

I just unpack, and step on them to pop them in my garage. I supposed you could do it outside if you really are worried about what's in them (air would be my guess).

If they are packaging around some kind of highly processed QVC "gourmet" food, I would posit the air in those sacs is more healthy than the fat, salt, sugar and chemicals in that prepared tan glop. ( my opinion of course!!!)

That reduces the mass to a rolled up sandwich bag.

Is this a serious question?

Re: How Do I Get Rid of Air Pack Shipping Material?

Take them outside on a windy day and step on them to release the "air"....it you get bored doing that, just stare up at the jet trails in the sky and ponder what "they" are trying to control you with!!!

Or watch the numbers on the license plates of cars passing your home....and if anyone walks by wearing a green shirt with plaid pants and yellow shoes, you'll know the end is near!!!

What do YOU think is inside those bags? I'm afraid to ask.

When I open the package, I use use my scissors to stab or cut them to deflate them and put them in the trash. It takes a few seconds. I think you are over thinking this thing. Making a problem that doesn't exist.

Re: How Do I Get Rid of Air Pack Shipping Material?

We all have our little quirks. I don't want to pop or cut these. I also hate ice in carbonated beverages, drink coffee in the car through a straw and have always used only original Pine Sol. That quirk paid off this month.

I am amazed there have been so many responses in this thread. What a group!
