For the wedding I had no problem writing a check, but for the wedding shower it felt weird. I ended up going in with some other members of my family and we purchased a visa gift card....There was no gift openin at the shower, which was a really fun shower by the way.......I guess in this instance I didn't feel it was out of line to do what they did.....
I think a wedding shower for people that age is a little strange. You would think they could afford to pay for their own honeymoon.

I too thought having a shower was weird, but it ended up being one of the best organized showers I had been to in a long time! The wife is not working due to a disability issue, so therefore probably a big reason they can't afford the honeymoon, or rather would like help with the honeymoon, I should'nt say they can't afford it as I have no idea of their financial situation......

I think it's a fabulous idea! They'd rather have memories instead of gifts. I say good for them and
