Something to consider with gift cards-I was purchasing restaurant gift cards for my dad that lives in another state.  I bought them at my local grocery but they were not accepted at his local restaurant.  So, although we may think we are doing something thoughtful, it may be something that cannot even be used.

DH and I never started the gift exchange with family ...except immediate.   We still gift grown kids, and grand kids and if there is a boyfriend he is included. 

 

We quit giving birthday gifts to the grands several years ago, they NEVER said thank you.
