I forgot to mention that I hoard boots...I like to think of myself as a 'boot collector'. That makes me feel better.

I have had this thing with always having a new TV...gotta have at least one new TV in my house. The big TV I have now is only less than 2yo but I'm already looking to buy a new one and I don't need it. I usually sell off my 'old' TV after I get the new one just so I can have a place to put it. One time I had two nearly brand new TVs sitting on the floor in my basement not being used.Woman Indifferent What a shameful habit I think.

@SilleeMee

Doesnt sound "shameful" to me.

I've been considering getting yet another TV, and having it on at the same time, as this TV, only having it on another, separate channel.  Concurrently, watching both TVs.

I thought that was a bit eccentric of me,

   *** until ***

..when visiting my beloved, elderly neighbors, they had Football on one TV, & Golf on a 2nd TV.  Both husband & wife were interested, & watching *BOTH* TVs at the same time in the Living Room. And their house is by no means "hoard-y-ish" I thought what a kewl idea!!  (I asked how they set their Cable up to be able to do that,  ... (but i kind of went blurry with the explanation).

Or another time, they had Golf on one, Movie on the other, (in the Living Rm).    When I happened to mention how kewl 2 TVs were, they showed me a 3rd TV (not on) in the same Living Rm!

And when she's in the kitchen, she has a nice, not too small TV on the Counter in the kitchen, watching it.

So, *wink* .......   it's okay @SilleeMee

@JoyFilled Warrior @SilleeMee I sometimes watch something on TV and also stream something on my tablet.  Just Saturday I did that with my college football team on my tablet and On Patrol Live on the TV.  It got a little difficult to follow both though near the end of the game an into overtime.

We have a TV in the kitchen.  It was supposed to be for me to watch while cooking but mostly my husband sits at the kitchen table and watches it.  If I have the fan on when I'm cooking, it's just too loud for me to be able to hear the TV which is more important than seeing it, so I gave up.

I don't have a L&L problem.  I have one set of plastic L&L and one set of the glass.  I much prefer the glass and I like that it is bore silica. I keep nacho chips in the large plastic one, so it's always in use.  I still have old green and brown Tupperware pieces and old Corning ware pieces (with the little blue flower).  The green set of Tupperware came with my husband.

It must be a compulsion in my case to have everything I see - without labeling I can only feel bad if I opt to think. A mentor of mine once told me a long time ago in my youth to go out and make a lot of mistakes as God was going to turn each one into a blessing. I discovered I couldn't out spend or out do anything thru compulsive behavior as Gods mercy willed my safety. Seemed the harder I tried to fulfill the core belief I am not enough the more God rewarded and loved me in ways I could not imagine. So lighten up is my message and enjoy the ride in the waking dream. When one knows who they really are they recognize nothing real can be threatened. Enjoy the dream it will all be over soon enough

No hoarding tendencies for me.  Everything in this house that belongs to me or my husband, has a designated storage spot.

Long before I knew the term hoarder, I knew my grandmother was one.  Her house was filled from top to bottom with useless stuff that she had long forgotten about.  At church rummage sales in the 60's, she was buying clothing items because she liked the design or fabric itself, and envisioned perfect quilt pieces on the quilts she never got around to making.  Thousands of items were stashed in plastic bags everywhere in her house, which was destroyed in a controlled burn by the fire department after she went into assisted living.

When I leave this world, ALL of my clothing and 7 pair of shoes will fit into one large storage tote to be carried out of here in one trip.

I hate to spend money on clothes and useless stuff like decor, but my family has always had everything they needed.  I've always controlled my wants as far as material items.

I do not think you are a hoarder. You forgot that you had those pieces. I actually replaced all of my lock n lock with Rubbermaid Brilliance, they are air tight and I love them.. I have Parrots with many challenges storing their food. The Rubbermaid Brilliance are the best storage containers that I have had. I can hear the "whosh" of the air coming out as I seal them.
