He died of COVID-19.

"Less than two weeks before receiving his diagnosis, Cain had attended Trump's rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the president's self-proclaimed reelection campaign kickoff."

Here he is at the event. It doesn't appear his contingent wore masks or socially distanced. Maybe this will be a cautionary tale for some. Maybe. But I'm not optimistic.

Was reading Dan Calabrese's announcement-- he was an editor and writer friend worked closely with Herman Cain.

Apparently, they knew from the beginning that he would have a rough time of it-- he had plenty of trouble breathing when he was hospitalized, and endured a very rocky period. But as recently as five days ago, the doctors had cautious reason to think that he would eventually recover. So sad that he took a turn for the worse again.
