I had admired Mr. Cain long before he became a presidential candidate. He was one of a few African American women and men who were heads of or highly ranked in Fortune 500 such as Ursula Ursula Burns and Charles Chenault of American Express. I would argue that his family and his education and socialization at Morehouse College, an HBCU, were the critical foundations in his life and career.
I did not agree with his politics but I was sad to watch him in Tulsa proudly not wearing mask. My sister and I talked about his appearance and based on her medical knowledge and his known medical history said that he would acquire COVID as he presented evidence of illness in pictures and on television during that infamous rally.
May he rest in peace and his family find comfort in their memories of him.

@Anonymous032819 , why are you doing this?

He lived his convictions right up until the end. He certainly wasn't a hypocrite. He put his money where his mouth was for what he believed in. He walked his talk.
His actions can be seen as an example to everyone. His ideological supporters can see themselves and their belief in freedom and their refusal to give in to fear amid chaos and confusion and difficut times. His ideological detractors can be sad for him and continue to advocate for their differing approaches to many topics. No death is a happy thing. Every death diminishes all of us. No one, NO ONE deserves to die of Covid or any other horrible preventable disease.
