I am happy for all of you that can keep and enjoy cable, I miss mine but due to my budget I had to cut because the cost was increasing with the same channels and actually some they took away. For me this is what I have to do but I do miss my cable. I should be able to save $88 a month. That wil help with food and needs.

I am new to my new tv but it only cost $199 for a 39 inch but I will check out QVC EVINE and HSN. How great would that be but my shows only show names and there are no numbers on my roku remote. I did not even get a tv remote just one for roku?

That was also my phone and inernet and no good channels. That is why it was only $138 a month but at times it was $174 a month. Too much for a fixed income.

@BalletBabe how do you tie your TV Roku to your computer? Would I have wires running all through the house?

@SeaMaiden wrote:You can do that shocking comparison with anything....think of what you have spent on food since 2003..., probably much more than cable. It is all relevant. I enjoy my cable and am happy to spend $$$$$ on it, no complaints.
I totally agree! What's the big deal? I will be the first to say my cable tv service is probably not a good value because I only watch a handful of programming, and not very often, but when I am in the mood to watch, I appreciate having it. Plus, I hear all those non-cable services are about to go up in price. This subject reminds me of all those clothes in my closet. I wear about a third of them. I'm not about to put a calculator to that one!!! LOL

@SeaMaiden Hi Sea, You don't . The box connects to your wireless router. I should have mentioned that . You do need a router, it is just like connecting a laptop to your router. What it does is it is actually turning your tv into a smart tv. I can get more things on the router, then I can on my smart TV.
I have a very old TV in my back bedroom and it works on that. If you get it and have any issues, I can tell you their customer service is excellent.

My Roku does not have a box. It is a streaming stick & it is plugged into the back of my TV. It is connected to my wi-fi.
It cost about $36 at Best Buy a few years ago.
