Re: Has your favorite color changed over the years?

I'm 58 and from as far back as I can remember; purple shades have always been my favorite color.  I love the lavender/purple colors.  When I was younger I did have more of those colors in my life.  I did my first baby's nursery in lavender and ivory and my mother and my mil thought I'd lost my mind....lol   But I knew that lavender would work with either blue or pink and I was right.  I never wanted to be one of those "purple people" so I have always used it sparingly, as an accent color.

Growing up, green was my favorite color. Now, it's been black for as long as I can remember.

When I was younger, my favorite color was yellow. Now it’s bright red. I guess both are warm colors but I think that as my assertiveness increased over the years, so did my color preference.

Re: Has your favorite color changed over the years?

Back in the early 70s, when I had my first apartment with a friend, my colors were black and red.  They still are, but I also love purple and charcoal grey, and one pastel - peach.

But I remember when I actually did some green and, while some shades of green are pleasing to the eye even still, I was never much for green.  I especially don't like olive/avocado/od green.  That shade makes me queasy.

I actually had those Corelle dishes with the tiny green flowers all around them.     I wouldn't do that now.

I still love black and red, but the red is the accent because there are so many shades of red and none of them go together, so I work hard to have red things that are the shade I prefer.

For a long time, sunshine yellow was my favorite color. I don’t know why but I just stopped liking it. Now I have several favorite shades: wine, Rose pink, lemon yellow, lipstick red, French blue, lilac, mustard yellow, cocoa tan.

I do not like any pastels.  Don’t like navy blue because it is hard to match. Have never liked the colors deep purple, burgundy, or most green, orange or brown shades.

Black and mid-gray are my favorite neutrals.

Blue has always been a favorite. Within the past several years I added cool greens and purple. Teal is the color that pops on me. Gray is the color I love to wear but keep that color in pants and not tops. If it isn't deep charcoal, it washes me out.
