Has your favorite color changed over the years?

Since I was a child blue has been my favorite color, but I noticed that's been slowly changing the last couple years. For decades I've been drawn to blue in my wardrobe and it was always the color I'd choose most often from options, but that's not so anymore. I have gray, cream & shades of off-white, blues & shades of aqua that decorate my home, but I'm growing tired of so many blues in my wardrobe and it's not the most appealing color to me very often now. I'm not sure what has happened, but I'm more drawn to neutrals and a greenish blue lately. Has your favorite color evolved or changed?

@Desert Lily, I think maybe the definition of favorite colored has maybe evolved.  When I was younger, I was all about blue.  Then I went through a green phase (I’m August, peridot), which I still love.  Lately though, I’ve been in a purple/wine/gray mood, so now my wardrobe is more diverse.  I could use more yellow and red though.

Great and thoughtful question, thanks!

Yes, @Desert Lily, and I have more colors than before, I think.

Blues, greens, periwinkles and purples have always been my favorites, but the shades have evolved.  Now I think the greens that appeal to me most are in a sort of soft mint green range...

I used to shy away from warmer colors, but they are more appealing to me now than before, in general.

@OznellWhy do you think that is? Why are we changing how we perceive colors? Are we just influenced by home and apparel fashions and styles? Or is it something within us?

Blue has always been my favorite color, with violet coming in second.

The next time that I hear salt and ice together, it better be in a margarita!

I, also always loved blue.  More so for my house than my clothing although I do wear some.  Mostly navy for clothes.

But a few years ago we replaced our carpeting which was a nice medium shade of blue and went to taupe which is a very practical color for carpeting.   I also replaced a lot of blue items I had sitting around and went more into greens.

Now lately I have found myself putting some of my little blue items back.   I think I really miss my "blue"!

So I don't think my favorite color has changed!Woman Wink

Since my teenage years my color was lavender. To this day, at the age of 78, it still is my favorite.🌼🌸

That's such a good question, @Desert Lily.  Not sure;  could be a combo of both.  I'm inclined to think though it could be more internal than we realize-- something to do with the maturing process?

Nope, blue (& it's variations) have always been my tried & true favorite.

Neutrals don't blend with my olive skin tone.  I like a blue/white combo also.

I do like soft colors also, coral, pinks, pale greens.

When I was in grammar school my favorite color was pink.  Although I did not move too far away, I love lavender.  Although I do not have any in my home, I lean for creams, beiges,  brown leather, white and a touch or green in my home.  My bedroom is ivory and white and I want to bring in a touch of pink or lavender in the sheets.
