Has anyone noticed that hair styles are slowly evolving from long "beach waves" to much shorter straight as a stick, parted on the left or right hairdos? Sometimes a little longer on one side than the other.

I had not noticed, but I"m glad to read this: I just got my hair cut shorter a few weeks ago. So nice to see that I'm "accidentally in style!" LOL

I haven't noticed, but my hair won't be straight without a lot of time, effort, and heat, which means it's not going to be straight. ![]()
I don't really worry about hair trends. My hair is going to do what it wants and I'm better off (and happier) working with it than fighting it.

Well one can't help but notice Shawn's hair, longer on one side and hanging over one eye and half her face, it's been that way for awhile. Other than that I did notice Sharon has adapted pretty much the hairdo you describe. The one hairdo that does irritate me (I'm old and cranky and easily irritated, LOL) is long hair parted in the middle and hanging down over the shoulders in the front. Especially when watching fashions on QVC or even more so when watching Say Yes To The Dress, which happens to be one of my favorite shows. Just can't stand it when the brides to be are trying on dresses and have that hair hanging down over the front of their shoulders so you can't see half the dress on top/

No I have not noticed that. I have noticed other hair trends though. Seems like the pixie cut is back and natural coils are on the rise.

I am very tired of all the extensions that especially actresses and news readers have. That is a style that will look very dated is old photos (on a par with huge puffy sleeves from the eighties).

I'm all for the long stringy beach waves going away. It looks like stringy greasy hair! Not attractive!
Anything that replaces it will be an improvement!

Wasn't that a trend in the 70's started by Vidal Sasson?

Beach waves aren't stringy and greasy. You must be thinking of another style. Now that I think about it, I haven't seen any stringy greasy styles.
