@Love my grandkids wrote:@suzyQ3 Oh I am so homesick! I'm 71 and lived for years in Redondo Beach and then we moved to Torrance many years ago. I'm in WA state now (moved here to be with relatives after DH died) and miss my beloved SoCal sooooooo much!
Miss the smell of that salty air near the beach. When the wind was right, we could smell it in West Torance!
My husband and I also moved to the Pacific Northwest and I so agree with you - I also miss SoCal soooo, soooo, much. Yesterday someone here posted gorgeous pictures of all the poppies blooming in SoCal now too - I so miss all that SoCal has to offer.

@Kachina624, they have a special beauty all their own. :-) Seriously, though, they do -- from a distance, always from a distance.

@suzyQ3 A few years ago I was hiking at Allegheny State Park in NY in the fall and was fortunate to witness a Monarch butterfly migration. One of the most amazing events I ever witnessed!!! Beauty in motion !!!

@hayseed00, they also so beautiful. We see them often. Unfortunately, I think that they are dwindling in numbers, if I recall correctly.
