Re: HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

[ Edited ]

@meallen616

Not all dads live in Heaven. My father lives in Hell where he belongs.

To all the wonderful fathers out there, have a great day! 💕

And please teach your sons how to be a good dad. It's an extremely important role in a healthy, happy family.

@catter70 , I know the feeling; mine passed away 24 years ago and I feel the same way.

My parents couldn't have children, and I was adopted at 4 days old.  Back then, the doctor literally delivered the babies to the parents.  My dear dad's birthday was on April 25th and I arrived that day.  I recall him telling me that he leaned over the bassinet and put his hand on me and I grabbed his finger.  He said he didn't move until I let go.  We've been close all of my life; and was also my hero.  When he passed, a part of me did too.

To @Trailrun23 , and family,   and to all those experiencing the pain of both the fresh loss, or the long-time loss, of beloved husbands and fathers on Father's Day, my condolences.

I love the painting too, @Cakers3 --  your apt word, "tender" sums it up.  Love the implicit trust also, of the little child nestling in while clutching a toy horse...

What a nice post @Oznell! You and your sisters were truly blessed!

So I will say Happy Fathers' Day to all of the fathers, stepfathers, grandfathers, great-grandfathers, uncles, brothers, future fathers, pet dads, teachers, and any man who has mentored someone or made a difference in someone's life.

Someone I had never seen before held the door for me today. He was going to pick up "a feast" (his words) for his neighbor. He told me she was going in for surgery tomorrow and wouldn't be able to eat much after that. (I don't know if she should eat that much before surgery either, but I'm certainly no medical expert!). I told him that was really kind of him.

There are people in this world who touch us for a brief minute and make a difference. There is good out there.   Smiley Happy
